Reviving this a bit...
I have a pre 06/2020 M340i. I took the car to the dealer for a safety recall, and they updated it to STA 4.33.30 S18A-21-11-561. Does that mean it's locked now? |

Fast forward two months after finally unfucking the remote start issue and reflashing back to stock on my kitchen counter, I decided to go with MHD as their tune doesn’t break the remote start function and offers far more flexibility. Not to mention, power delivery is much more predictable. Wouldn’t go back even if I was paid to do it. |

Both are pretty similar in performance. I know some dealerships will actually install Carbahn flash and piggybacks tunes (even post 6/20 DMEs with a Femto unlock). They also both come with factory matching warranty . So I guess it all comes down to personal preference. It is also worth knowing that Dinan only warranty's their 91 octane tune while Carbahn incudes 93 octane.

Carbahn also has the ability to buy a warranty even if you're not currently covered by BMW. |
