Cool Upgraded my M sport brakes to M Performace brake

Upgraded M performance brakes onto my G20 with 20 inch 795M wheels
The car is so much more aggressive now. The Mperformance brake kit has 374mm front slotted disc and 345mm rear slotted disc, the calipers are larger in size to for larger pistons

So the calipers are the same as the upgraded cooling package and brake package only red? Looks like it.

There's actually grow in size on both the calipers and brake disc. Calipers are larger for larger pistons.

I'm pretty sure they are no bigger than the upgraded track package brakes (which are bigger than the standard blue brakes). Here, look at mine they are bigger than the blue standard brakes in the first picture but look identical (only blue) to the red caliper. The discs are what is different.

Same size as the track package / cooling package is also my understanding. In fact the tech specs look exactly the same. Although the discs are different (if they come with the red brakes?)

But I paid £300 for them as factory install not the £2k these cost....

Ohhh its because the original one was M sport brakes, my G20 is a 330i. Hope that unties the misunderstanding hahahah...

Even the standard M340i without the upgraded track/cooling package, gets the same size calipers as your 330i with M Sport package.

If you have a close look at the red and blue caliper in my photo, there is a slight difference in their design. Also there is grow in size so it will be able to fit a larger disc

That is correct. However, look at my picture and you will see it's the same as your red caliper (larger caliper body).

Thats true, but my conversion is from M sport to M performace brakes, so the disc and calipers will change. If its for M340i, the only difference might really be only the slotted disc.

It's still an upgrade (caliper and disc) for the M340i as well, unless you have the track package then you get the even larger brake calipers (like the blue ones in my picture and your red ones in yours) but the discs are not cross drilled and slotted like yours. They are larger discs though.

Great clear photos of the brakes, but in my opinion the additional cost of the upgrading to red M-Performance brakes + 795M wheels + labour + 13% tax on G20 330 is comes very close to the cost G20 M340.

Very hard to swallow.. Nevertheless looks great!

Looks good - but to clear up any confusion...

All G2x cars that come with the M Sport braking system come with the 4 pot blue Brembo as shown in the OP's comparison photo - this is the smallest of all the G series 4 pot calipers and uses 348mm discs. They will also have the 345mm rear calipers.

The only exception to the rule, as has been mentioned, is the M340i - which if optioned with the track handling pack - gets upgraded to the bigger blue 4 pots which use a 374mm disc. Again, the rears are 345mm and are not upgraded vs the other G2x cars with M Sport brakes. M340i cars that didn't have the track pack selected get the 348mm fronts as default.

Therefore, if you are a M340i owner with the track package and then fit the M Performance brakes to your car, you are literally removing the identical braking system that you would be replacing it with - the only difference being red paint and dimpled / slotted discs.

If you are a regular G2x owner and opt to fit these to a car that already has the 348mm front and 345mm rear - then you are upgrading the front only, as the rears remain the same size.

The cheaper option is to source blue or even better the grey 374mm brake calipers on ebay etc and then buy the 4 x M Perf discs - then custom paint the 4 calipers!

The red callipers work well with the blue body color!

My old F30 328i brakes are also lying around on a shelve in the basement in case something goes wrong with the M-performance ones. Three years / 50k km and going strong

Do these new M performance brakes also make that clattering noise which is heard especially with the windows down when passing a wall or in a tunnel? I was very noticeable on the F30 M-performance brakes and I wonder if the made modifications to avoid that.
Seeing that the rotors are still dimpled and slotted I guessing noise levels would be similar but you can tell from experience.
