Transmission Noise After Fluid Change?!?”UPDATE”
I just changed my transmission fluid with the kit from fcp euro. Anyone experiencing a transmission whine under hard acceleration after the fluid change, its in the lower gears from a dead stop usually. Checked the fluid level twice now using the fill and level check info from the ZF website, waiting for the temp, cycling gears and hold for 10s and then holding revs at 2k. Some people on forums say they experienced the same thing after fluid change or that it’s normal, but it didn’t do it before. Any help would be appreciated!! The same noise mine is making is in the link below.

Been reading that I should overfill it 1/2L, some people did that and it fixed it, is this a good idea?

Instructions say to fill until it overflows. Get car up to temperature, then fill again until it overflows.

Yes I did the ZF fill instructions word for word, drove it around 50 miles and checked it again, it was full, then I checked it again a couple hundred miles later, still full. Moved it through the gears holding for 10 second, held revs at 2k for 30s, and made sure it was at right temp.

Found out what it was for anyone else having this issue, the oring on the filter going into valve body was incorrect seated, with the newer style white filter made by hengest, the O-ring has room to slide between the upper and lower lip that it sits in on the filter neck, allowing it sit slightly sideways or roll and allow the pump to suck air under hard/fast acceleration. The older one made by filtran doesn’t have this issue, the O-ring fits Snuggly between the upper and lower lip on filter neck, replaced hengest filter with older style filtran and no more whine.
