Debadging Anyone?

Thinking about removing the xDrive and M340i badges on the trunk to give the car a more cleaner look. Anyone here who has done this? Will it cause problems at lease end?

Really depends. Even if they do give you a hard time just buy a set of badges beforehand and stick them on.

I removed my xdrive badge completely and replaced my M340 with a matte black one. But I'm not leasing

I’d save the badges and stick them back on just in case.

I have removed the xDrive badge 10 mins after delivery as I have done so with many other BMWs. They absolutely do not care when you are turning it back in.

I plan to. I'd love to see some pictures too. Won't have my M340xi until 4/3, so I can post mine 4/4.

Is it just a quick hairdryer job and a plastic pry tool/dental floss or a more complicated removal process?

Yes. Hair dryer to heat up the glue and dental floss to cut through it to remove the badge. You'll also need some goo gone to remove the left over adhesive (that's the process that takes the most time; removing the badge is quick and easy).

Yes pretty much. Although removing all the adhesive was harder than I thought... maybe I didn't heat it up enough.

RedKloud VipinLJ Thanks both!
Def my number one job - never had to do it before as i have always been able to order without the badges. I’ve used autoglyms tar remover to get other sticky stuff off the car paintwork before as well - will prepare myself for the delight of the quick badge removal followed by the hour or rubbing and polishing!! nothing worth having is achieved without effort as they say!

Save yourself time and trouble and pick yourself up one of these - I only wish I had found this 30 years ago. So so many blisters over the years from jetski's to boats to cars from removing stickers, emblems etc....
