Why's it embarrassing that a gas engine car lost to an electric car? The latter has instant power. If you want a fast car to beat cars in between stop lights you seem to be the right candidate for an electric car - just saying

🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

This is the worst I've ever seen from BMW, in all years of BMW ownership ( = 41 years ).

Thank you BMW, you saved me $80,000.

Now lets see if they destroy the M2's front end with these ugly oversized grills.

Well, I think they'll solve the problem of other manufacturers ripping off their design language.

Unless you have x-ray vision. And you can see through that pillar.
It's an all new Aerodynamic Packet. The central intake has now been replaced by the Grille.
But I am told that the Air curtains,Brake intakes are very aerodynamically formed into the front facia as is the front. It's less understated than before. All new.

I'm going to hug my M2 when I get home after seeing this mess. One of the reasons I love it is the "more traditional looking" BMW design language it has. I couldn't give two shits if someone says it looks like a normal 2 series or it's boring looking, in my opinion, its beautiful and unlike this mess and the upcoming cars it actually looks like a BMW.

One thing i do like is that the body panels above the grilles/likely on the hood give the impression that the grilles are simply the front end of an f1-style car or a jet fighter, with a "conventional" car wrapped onto the sides - it actually could be pretty interesting after a painful acclimatization period... here's to hoping!

The # of current/future BMW models that I am interested in is rapidly approaching zero, and I have owned BMWs since 1993.
I am MUCH more excited about locating a PRE-OWNED BMW than a new one right now . Used Bimmers are a fantastic value.

I happily will vote with my wallet.

We can see already see much more aggressive aero parts as the protruding lip and the fins on the vertical bar in the intakes. That lip alone should make a big difference in functional aero.

Does this mean it is an M car? I kind of doubt the regular 4 will have that lip?

Man i cant wait till the press rags get a hold of the first production cars ... i hope they just go at it with no filter. Maybe Munich will listen to them about this "design" since they completely swung and missed on this one

I have been here before if you can remember the E60 M5? you had people saying they won't buy it and actually some, well actually a lot did.
The M3 Coupe changeover to M4 was also controversial with I will buy M3 badges and re-badge it. And I never seen that outcome so I presume they left it as the M4?. I can name numerous examples of other BMW models that have felt the wrath of a forum.

But what we are overlooking here is that the focus is on the grille which is really revealed in a poorly shot photograph where not everything is entirely revealed.
I suggest you wait until the official photographs drop soon therefore you can finally make an impression when you see it in high definition. And of course like M2 CS the car will be going on the road so some of you might receive an invite to one of the closed rooms.

As I explained so far all you have seen is a car on a production line hidden behind a pillar and renders.
I guarantee that when you see it officially some will come round to the new interpretation of The BMW M3 but you need to see it first.
