Well, the Hoegh Trooper finally arrived in Baltimore. Now lets see how long it takes for my car to get on a carrier.

Called the Genius line to get an update on things and see how long it might be to have my cameras retrofitted.

The car is finally at the VPC and is awaiting parts. It only arrived on the 23rd meaning it took 13 days to actually make it from the port where it was offloaded to the VPC. Seems like a long time.

Couldn't get any ETA on when the car might be ready.

This is for a 2022 M44Oi.

Yeah, my 2022 m440i has been at the vpc since august 11th. Work order was opened on the 17th and there has been no updates or info since then. There are some individuals in the M3/M4 forum who have been waiting well over a month for the retrofit cameras… but it looks like average time to fix is around 28 days… hard to believe but I think that’s what we’re looking at

I just got a call from my CA and he says the car is on a vehicle carrier on its way to the dealer. Should have the car next Friday. Here's my timeline updated:

Well, that's what my CA told me. My Garage still shows the car "At the port." The car actually got to the port just after midnight on the morning of the 26th. I'm planning on calling Genius on Monday to verify.

Based on other posts in this thread it looks like 28 days is about right from port arrival. Hoping my car might be ready by the 10th of September.

Supply chains are really screwed up but I do believe they could do a better job with communicating expected timelines. It isn't as if a box of parts just randomly shows up by surprise. I'd rather they tell me that it's going to be X amount of days rather than let me wonder.

Agreed - they should have an estimate of when the parts are coming to the VPC, etc. and the lack of communication is really frustrating. I was told by the dealer when I ordered this car in May that I’d receive it by the end of August at the latest and now my car is sitting at a processing center and nobody knows anything other than it’s waiting for parts. Kind of unexpected for a 70k purchase

I share your frustration about delays, but the causes are things beyond BMW's ability to fix. In the world as we used to know it, stuff was ordered and showed up just in time to be put on the car. Now many of these parts just aren't available and the suppliers don't have time to keep updating status so the manufacturers wait and it gets there when it gets there.
The microchip problems are not likely to be solved for another year or longer.

I was informed by Genius today that my 2022 M440i that arrived in Baltimore on 8/26 (Hoegh Trooper) is expected to be at my BMW center (midwest dealer) on Sept 2nd. I has specifically asked about camera delays since I got the Parking Assistance Package, so sounds like that won't be a hold up for me.

M340 entered VPC today (from the Horizon Leader). BMW couldn't say if its gonna sit for parts or cameras or what they can't give status apparently more then that.

Mine too--arrived at the VPC in NJ on the Horizon Leader and now is back to "At the port". My car supposedly has the Parking Assistance Package and Parking Assistant Plus. Hoping there are no additional parts to install and it breezes through the VPC so I can pickup it up over the long weekend.

Car moved to "In transit" today although it was released to the carrier on August 27. CA says it's due to the dealer on Sept. 1.

I got everything but the driving assistance one where it can drive for you (have it on my s90, never used it). I saw some other models were waiting on cameras so i hope not too. Wanted to drive some on the long weekend as well

My 330i was also on the Horizon Leader shipment that arrived in Philly on 8/26. The status yesterday went from “In transit” to “At the port”, which I assume reflects arriving at the VPC. (Genius previously told me it would arrive there by 8/31, so I guess it was a day “early”.)

I wasn’t aware of the parking assistance camera issues…I’m going to contact Genius and see if they know if any tickets have been opened on the car.

I was originally lined up for a 2021 model that was in inventory -- but it got “poached” by someone higher up in the food chain before it made it to my dealer. The good news is I’m getting the color I wanted (sunset orange) - the bad news is that it’s been an extra two months!
