I just saw a Lincoln ad and they are doing delivery to your home option and picking up cars needing service.

It is one of the reasons why I like Tesla. This whole old school dealership model is doomed where you are fighting with your client advisor and there are so many little games that need to be played.

Yes, you end up possibly getting a better deal but I feel like this entire industry will be entirely different by 2030

Mine is still on the ship scheduled to arrive in port on 04/05. Most likely to be at the dealership at 04/10.

I talked to my Client Advisor, he basically told me it won't even be pulled from the port in NJ. It will most likely just sit there until everything gets back to normal. It concerns me a little that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle or something. I wouldn't be surprised if I can't get it until May/June.

I am curious how and when will these cars be shipped to their dealerships based on what is going on.
My car is supposed to port in to Baltimore on 4/7.

I think every port and dealership will act differently including states. Since Baltimore might not have as strict of regulation as let's say NJ, the car can be pulled from there. However, if the end destination (the dealership) is in PA, and since a car dealership is not an essential business, you wouldn't still be able to get your car.

The truck driver might not even be able to pull it off the lot. That is why it is essential you and I or people in our situation keep having a conversation going with the CA/dealership.

As you previously stated, I suspect it could be a couple months until we receive our cars. And this would be for a good reason to support the needs of the nation.
VA hasn't yet completely locked down the state, so we'll see since my final destination is VA Beach.
Cheers and good health to you all!

Mine arrived at port on march 27th and PCD for April 24th has been cancelled by bmw for good reasons. The car is planned to be routed to the dealership from SC. Date is TBD.

I have some port accessories to be installed.

Current status = wait and see.

I'm unable to get my car in PA as my dealership's sales department is closed.

Mine was supposedly going to Charleston but it's on the ship stopping in Baltimore on 4/07 as well, wonder if it will get off there?

If your call was originally scheduled to be unloaded in Charleston then someone has to change the port of entry location. This can be found in the dealer network portal and vehicle inquiry report. Your dealership is the best person to verify unloading point.

Just spoke to the dealer. My car is still in Baltimore waiting for the truck to be full. It was released from the VPC on 3/27

Do you know what Ship? My car is on the Hoegh Trigger stopping in Santander, Spain tomorrow.

Maryland will be on a "Stay-at-home" order tonight, so we will probably be waiting awhile.

Yes, with limited hours of 9-6. This is in Chicagoland Suburbs. The Milwaukee area dealers are also open.

That's great. I hope you get it before they shut it down.

This week (today) I am seeing a lot of employees trying to get back to normal, and I feel like they are rushing. I wish people would be patient. However, I also want to get my car, and I am itching for it. My dealership closed last week at least for a few weeks it seems.

Well we have a stay-at-home order for Virginia until June 10th. I guess I'm waiting until June until I get a new car. ☹️

That truly sucks but things can change. I just keep telling myself health is more important than a god damn car which is true. Just want to have both. Humans, right? lol

Yep, I agree. This is a "want" in life not a need. I don't want anyone getting sick trying to deliver the car.

However one can dream about sweet talking BMW in to dropping it off at my house. I can sign and pay for everything remotely. If they need a detailed inspection of the car to ensure no damage occurred from the carrier, I can do that and provide pictures. But one can dream. Cheers!
