Amber Engine Management Light

I have had the amber engine management light stay on all the time on my dash.
Car drives fine and no error messages received or stored in the I drive. Can I leave this and hope it goes away or does this need another visit into the dealer.
Had a service just before xmas.

I had a similar issue around a year ago. Was a faulty o2 sensor.

15minute job at the dealers to sort.

Obviously your light could be something totally different but mine drove fine and well and didn’t bring any idrive errors up.

Take it to the dealer as it won't go away. Plus it will log how long you're driving the car with the light on, so best get it sorted for warranty purposes.

I had this done under warranty with the main dealer a year ago - amber engine management light again at the time. I am now a year on and out of warranty (4 year old car). I think best pop in to my local independent and get them to plug the diagnostic machine in next week to see what they can find.

Bit of a gamble, but it might be worth getting one of these to interrogate the fault codes: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AUTOPHIX-Di...dp/B094N344LV/

Could be cheaper, perhaps, than that initial visit to the indie dealer. And might give an indication whether it’s something that you can fix yourself, or not.
