When will the G22/G23 get ID8?

As the title suggests has anyone got any idea when the 4 series coupe and convertible are likely to get ID8?

Probably when the LCI comes along, which is usually 3-4 years after the initial launch.

That was my line of thought too but seeing it being introduced on the 2 series so quickly after its launch got me concerned because as good as ID8 is claimed to be the dashboard architecture needed to accommodate it looks plain bloody ugly to me. So much so I've placed an order for a new G22 and decided to change my one year old car with a view to, hopefully, avoid the change from ID7 to ID8.

It’s a big change and will be one of the selling points of the LCI. I’m as certain as I can be that it won’t happen any time soon.

Think I read somewhere that due to low sales of 4 series, and 8 series, that BMW will be doing away with both models, in favour of a 6 series coupe instead.
