It´s the same thing with the Iconic Glow for the X5/X6 in Germany.
BMW was able to get it authorized as part of the headlights.

I can remember when DRLs were first intoxicated and everyone hated the amber color, and was trying to change to white led. Now we're back to Amber, or in this case yellow

There's no trick or authorization needed. There are various state law provisions so it's not a cut and dry answer, but from what I can see most advise white or amber for front lighting. Yellow could be close enough to not get hassled, but I suppose there is still a risk.

You can email the seller on Alibaba, I'm sure they can swap out the LED for an amber one but it'll probably cost extra

ICEDRIVER on AliExpress can do special variants.
Just contact them and ask what you plan.

In some states the tubes are only yellow when the low beam is on.
They´re white when only the DRL is on.

FYI for anyone having issues with turn signals or low beams/high beams, there's an issue with some of the modules, I was pulling my hair out checking fuses and such thinking something happened. ICEDRIVER is sending out some replacement modules to me so hopefully that'll fix it. This issue happened about two months after having these installed.

Recently installed the BayOptics CSL Yellow DRL modules on my 2022 M340i.

Not even two weeks later and BOTH left and right turn signal started to malfunction. Every time I use the left or right blinker, I get the lighting system malfunction code.

Anyone experience this issue and/or know how to fix this. PLEASE HELP

Yeah I know. That wasn’t why I asked.

If a shop did it, have them check it out.

If he did it, inspect it and contact BayOptiks. Maybe the part is faulty. I’ve heard of others having this issue and a newer/updated one being sent to them.

Hey Rick, I have the same issue. I messaged the seller I got the light from on AliExpress and some new ones are getting sent out. To my knowledge there’s no fix other than replacing the little board that went bad. I’m going to t/s what went wrong on the old board but I suspect a trace burnt out or ic went bad. Will report back when I go to replace these. Really annoying hearing that ding in the car when you turn the signal lights on.

I had them installed at a well-known reputable shop here in So Cal. I went back, they ran the codes and confirmed it's coming from the DRLs. Something about the wrong frequency/voltage.

They gave me the option to see if I wanted to try and have them coded but said more than likely it's faulty board(s) and issue will come back.

Happy to hear I'm not the only one BUT sucks that it's happening. I sent an email to the seller on Thursday. Hopefully I receive a response sometime this coming week. I was checking out some other threads on here for different models (x3) and seems to be an issue. Depending on the response I get from the seller, I may just go back to white

The DING is super annoying.

The x3 thread talked a lot about the ICEDRIVER modules. Some people were getting updated 'V2" modules with metal backings, where as "V1" modules didn't have metal backings. Also, some people are using actual thermal paste instead of the thermal tape that the modules come with. One dude is/was on his 4th or 5th set!

That's insane, must be a heat issue and a lot of power is going through that little board causing that issue. Can you link that thread so I can read it?

There´s ICEDRIVER and Vinyldesign2 that make these boards.
Vinyldesign2 claim they´re the first and the chinese just copied their design.

I got the boards from ICEDRIVER and they´re working just fine.
My came with a thermal glue and i had put on a small layer between the board and the heatsink. The heatsink gets warm but not boiling hot.
