LED Sequential Mirror Indicators

I had some free time today and finally got around to installing the sequential LED mirror indicators that I ordered from Unique Style Racing a few weeks ago.

https://www.uniquestyleracingstore.c...fc9f&_ss=r

The install took about 30 minutes and was fairly easy. Step one is to remove the mirror glass which allows you to see the clips that hold on the mirror cap.

Once you have the mirror cap removed, there is one connector that you'll have to pull out to free the mirror cap from the car. You'll then need a T10 bit to remove the 2 screws holding the stock indicator from the mirror cap.

The Unique Style Racing unit was a perfect fit when put in place. Simply put the 2 screws back to hold the new unit in and reverse your steps to reinstall the mirror cap.
Be careful to protect the mirror glass, it could get damaged when you're removing it from the mirror and could also scratch your paint once removed. Having a shop cloth hand to wrap around it is a good idea.

Pictures of the finished product. You'll notice these are actually smoked so they blend right into my black sapphire metallic paint job.

I still have mine that I bought from a Chinese seller on ebay unfortunately one was longer than the other and did not fit so i ended up getting a refund.

I really do think the smoked looks great against the BSM and looked brilliant in my carbon caps but ultimately for me having sequential indicators up front but standard 'binkers' at the rear just doesn't sit right.

I adjusted the mirror as far as possible inward (toward the car door) and used a trim tool to apply pressure from behind while pulling as well with my fingers. One side was much quicker that the other but neither were too bad. Just firm but consistent pressure and they let go. All clips are right in the middle of the glass in a circular shape. Here is a pic of the circular piece the mirror clips into.

Can you see which signal is lit up from INSIDE the vehicle? I can’t believe how stupid it is that BMW doesn’t have an indicator on the mirror for drivers.

You can see which one is lit by the indicator in your dash. You cannot see the actual light on the outside.
