G20 M340I Brake Fluid

Hello, does anybody have links/recommendations for the brake fluid on a G20 M340I? Original part # or anything superior (Motul/Liquomoly/etc.) would be helpful! Thank you!

For street/track, I’ve used Motul RBF660.

Good to know, did you notice any difference switching from OEM? Also do you know how much it took to flush the system? Thanks!

Immediate difference when braking aggressively at the track. No more brake fade.
I don’t know how much fluid, sorry. Shop did my flush.

These cars are spec’d for “low viscosity” fluid. Supposed to be more ABS friendly and what-not. I’m sure there’s some truth to that but I don’t know if normal viscosity would create any problems in emergency situations. I’ve personally run Torque 700 in my car and it works just fine. But no true emergency situations have occurred yet so time will tell. Btw… I believe Pentosin makes the OE stuff. Just go to Rock Auto and put in your vehicle info and it’ll come up with what you need.

Just flushed the system out with MOTUL RBF660, took about 2 1/2 of the 500ml bottles for a nice flush. Instantly noticed a more responsive braking system, pedal has instant bite now. Pads and rotors still near new shape as they were changed about 15K miles ago.

That’s excellent. It’s also amazing how much fluid you gotta push through these lines to get a solid flush. I’ve never run 660 but it is available at a local shop that carries Motul-everything. Heard good things about it. Interested to know your thoughts at 5k miles. 660, I hear, because it’s more “aggressive,” really soaks up moisture and requires pretty frequency flushing/bleeding.

How much fluid do we use in the M340? I think it's around one liter, but I'm going to be moving to a more expensive fluid (Endless RF-650 most likely) and I don't want to buy an extra 500 ml (1.5L in total) and only use a bit of it when I do my flush. Sounds like based on the above, we use around 2.5 500 ml bottles, so I may be out of luck.

Pentosin

I flushed mine a couple of weeks ago, and I used the Pentosin DOT 4 LV. I used 1L, but I was very close to running out. So I would recommend gettin more than 1L for a good solid flush, but you can make it work with 1L. Here is a link to the kit I bought from FCP Euro - highly recommend.
