Right, just like BMW would never price the M3 CS so high that they must now offer $20,000-plus discounts to move them.

They’ve made judgement errors before, and until the market reacts you have no idea if this will be one of those or a master stroke. Me, I’m out of the G80 market.

BMW is an automotive brand created by humans for humans, so there's nothing perfect about it. Nothing is completely failsafe. Things have flopped before. Cars haven't sold well before. How well the vehicle sells is partially dependent on what the competition does. IF there are subjectively/objectively better options, people will seriously consider them.

Would still be great if they offer them for the M3 though! My guess is they still won't be anything like the M4 GTS seats... that is what I'd like to see in the M2 going forward.
I have sparco evo 3s since it's the only seat that fits me comfortably, and they barely set me back $700 a piece. For a daily driver I'd much rather have leather with power adjust-ability and no huge hump to squeeze out of. It's nice for driving but not nice for daily use.

pretty sure BMW's primary focus is to increase cooling and efficiency, not looks. Everyone is looking to incorporate bigger open grilles for all the intercoolers and radiators that are needed for modern engines. most recently on the M2C they specifically said they made changes to the grille because of cooling issues they found without the updates.

And we shall see how well they do.

But their earnings statement shows positive income even after what you stated about $20k discount on CS.

I'm still not a fan of how straight and thin the tail lights are. My bet is they will put a kink in them for LCI and make them look similar to how the 8-series looks now. The overall outline/shape is nearly identical between the two, so all they need to do is kink the red strip a bit. Of course, they couldn't do it now or else the "all-new" 8-series wouldn't look as special. It also gives them something to do to the 3-er tail lights for LCI. Bet this would look amazing on the G80 LCI.

I really think the G80 will look very similar to the newly revealed M8. The rear certainly will.

I think we could assume the interior is going to be consistent during this next M phase

That's exactly what I think as well, it's too straight and therefore kinda boring and I'm afraid they'll fix that with the LCI.

Yes. Yes I do

G20, G05, Z4, 850. Copy and paste.
Nothing new, its been like this for years, all interiors share similar designs and buttons/parts, with materials getting better as you step up the food chain. Mercedes and Audi all do similarly w/ their interiors.

Only really the bangle era had a more different looking interior and exterior for each vehicle, other than that, before and after the bangle era, BMW has been using the Russian Doll Approach both inside and out.

Yep I think the new M3 will look sick even with the anticipated large vertically oriented grill.

There’s been some concerns that the G80 might not have a power dome and I suspect that is correct should the G80 and new 4 series borrow a lot from the vision dynamics front end and hood. As you can see in pictures the whole mid line of the vision dynamics is one long power dome that starts with the tall kidneys protruding above the rest of the hood line.

I'm hoping my CS withstands a little longer until my lease is up and I get a G80. The E9x immediately looked awful (to me) when the F80 came out.

I could see this being the case, too. I'm a fan of the power dome but I don't need one tacked on for the sake of having one if it 1) doesn't provide any function and/or 2) doesn't gel with the rest of the design

Agree, i think at minimum we are going to get a new interpretation if there is even a "powerdome" at all

I think the powerdome is great if it works with the overall design, but i definitely do not want a power dome "just because" the last 3 generations had one. I want the design that is most cohesive and aggressive overall. I'll reserve judgement for the final product.
