The front looks nice but that rear ruins the whole car for me, looks like a Lexus no matter how I look at it.

The RWD version will be pretty cool. But ultimately I would rather the outgoing M3. All or none when it comes to BMW’s.

I'm wondering if the Z4 adheres to this logic since most, if not all, of the photos we've seen are of the M40i model with the "mesh" grille.
Same thing with the 4 series, all the spy shots show it with a similar grille to the new M340i and Z4 despite being a 30i model

I took out some of the curves out of the bumper to make it more angular/masculine. Gave it proper headlights too.

that looks like they just ran out of ideas...and the results are hideous...then designers agreed thats the beast we want this thing to look like

Guessing that 0-60 time is xdrive. So probably 4.4 rwd. Still not bad.

I bet in all but good conditions it keeps up with F80 0-60, especially less than optimal conditions.

Sad the X3 and X4 don't have all these interior changes. Makes them look dated now and they are brand new. Makes me think twice about X3M I was considering.

random bimmerposter improving on bmw design. nice. I would like to see this car with even fewer flowy lines and less overstyling. and definitely include halos.

The regular Msport seems to have a cleaner front end design. The M340 has way too much going on in the front.

I also saw no mention of the M340 coming with an M performance exhaust? I wonder if it will be standard or an option.

Actually BMW has said the M version will keep it for at least one more generation. Just not regular versions.

Exactly. Same exact situation for me.

I actually thought I'd go with a 5 as a stop gap until the G80 comes out, but I'll definitely consider the G20 M340i X-drive.

Yeah I don’t like the way that looks, too busy. Reminded me of all the Lexus owners that went crazy about how they hated the alien large grill mouth. It also reminds me of Lexus recent designs like the UX that has so many lines, creases and crap going in all kinda of directions, not cohesive at all. It’s like the designers were all fighting about who was going to get their design implemented. Heck will just put them all in. Lol

So the new G20 does 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. The F80 is 3.9. So, if I go by past practice that the MPPK offers about 9% more power (35 HP) and would be about 0.2 seconds quicker, that means the incoming M340i is as quick as the outgoing M3/4 without the harshness or high insurance! Whoa !?!? That is some great numbers, if the existing M3/4 is 0.7 seconds faster than the present M340i, what is the new M3/4 going to do? It seems it would have to be an AWD because to get 0.5-0.7 seconds better than the new M340i puts acceleration into the low 3's, therefore traction will be a huge issue.

I really like the new front grill and the narrow rear lights, very nice! I was thinking of getting a F80 to replace my 335i, but this may change things a bit.

Exactly. BMW said no AWD on G80 but I think that's a mistake. We have seen there really is a traction limit on these cars and AWD allows them to fly by it. Look what it did to new M5 and the numbers the Alfa Stelvio Quad and Merc GLC AMG are putting down (0-60 3.3) no way BMW will break 3.6 with RWD. So if it's still 3.7-3.8 and M340i is 4.2 for $15k less they might lose a lot of buyers. Especially when on the street (and maybe even track) same cost SUVs are out performing M3/M4 (maybe even X3M)
