Yikes! on a 3 series? I think you can lease an 2018 M3 for like $700.00

I myself have also test driven the M340i. I currently have my broker in search the perfect one.

Yeah so there's definitely a muffler break in period...the snaps and cracks keep getting louder, tonight was the loudest they've ever been. Accidentally scared the crap out of both myself a person walking on the sidewalk when I downshifted and 'gunshots' echoed out of the tunnel I was in.

Ran into a Dodge Viper, very good sounding car. Way louder than the M340i on throttle obviously. I couldn't hear him over the snaps and cracks my car was making letting off at 4k RPM though

Im at 800km, I can kinda confirm my exhaust got quieter around 400-500km, I always use Shell 91 V-Power, but went out today for a cruise, Sounds like its getting louder again, Loving the loud pops im getting, The exhaust is waking up.

I drove by a guy in a lifted dodge RAM , I let off the throttle and in my rear view saw him damn near suffer whiplash by spinning his head in my direction after a couple of LOUD pops!!

People do not expect it, based on the look of the car!

On my old X3 M40i (which cracked, popped and burbled better than my old M4 ZCP) I noticed the exhaust noises sounded better as the exhaust warmed up. If you drive the car really hard for a few minutes and get the exhaust hot, the exhaust noises are much louder. The exhaust noises are random as well (each time is unique), and it seems the better of the noises only appear when driving the car hard.

the engine without its vanity cover

looks quite different from the N54. The vanity cover just clips on, easy on, easy off.

Also the spinning hub cabs (the bmw label stays upright). the last option is gimmicky but I like it anyhow.

I had called around to various dealers in Orange County. I didn't want to waste time if they wanted MSRP. Crevier offered me $3000 off MSRP. With the incentives it was $7500. Not a great deal but I was in a sweat to get it after the test drive. So I would not advice negotiating right after the test drive, you will have weak will power.
Congrats! I'm loving the look of the m340i in dark colors. From all of the descriptions, it seems much more aggressive than the f30 335/340i too.

Mine actually sounds louder! I have one of the first builds without the new software. I won't do the "emission update" as they like to call it as it de-tunes the car.

What he means is warm up the engine before starting to rev it. Your engine temp needle is showing cold.

You should allow the car to reach optimal oil temp before flooring it.

There's zero evidence of this. This was a rumor posted in one thread with no evidence to back it up. If you ignore the recall, and any damage is done to the car as a result, you might be the one paying the bill.

I hope the exhaust stays the way it is: yesterday in the parking garage here at work, I goosed it going up the ramps. It set off somebody's car alarm. I was pleasantly surprised. Yet if you put it in comfort mode it barely growls. Like it has multiple personalities.

So much has changed in 12 years, there is little comparison to my e90 335i (still have it since the dealer offered $2500 yet it runs flawlessly except for its 144,000 miles and broken radio). Test drive it, you will want it. I highly recommend the vehicle.
Interesting. Do tou still have your 335i? Are you selling it?

I've only filled up a couple times and so far it's been a different station each time. I'll go back to the first one after my current tank is empty and see what happens.

I switched myself to a guest user, which I imagine resets the driving adaption settings? This had no effect.
Also noticed this at around 700-800 miles.
Tried the "recommend Shell quality gas" and it seemed to get louder again. Only my first tank from shell so cant really be sure.
I've always used chevron on my cars till now. Maybe time to switch to shell for this one.
