Issues with smartphone Connected app
My Connected app stopped working properly about a week ago. Prior to that, everything worked fine, but now 3D remote view, lock, remote start etc will not work. I have tried in on my android phone and my wife's iPhone. Strangely, it still updates correctly my fuel level and location.

I just got off the phone with BMW customer support. They are aware of the issue with the app and they are experiencing technical problems at the moment. She could not give me an estimated time for resolution of this issue. She said just keep checking the app.

Still didn't work. All commands always stuck at "sending to vehicle". Meanwhile, News and Weather seem to be working just fine. Fuel level and location update is fine. Destinations can be sent to the car. My car can also receive the confirmation code, but not those remote commands. This looks more like something is up on the server side. Do you still have those issues with your car? |

Did this procedure and sure enough the app updated to today (last update was on Oct 21, 2019 and it's been stuck there ever since). No one has been able to figure this out (BMW corporate or my dealer).
However, even though it now shows it's been updated today, and the correct mileage, the fuel level and total range have not updated, and I still cannot send any signal to the car successfully (tried honking the horn and it says sending to vehicle for a while and then fails with "something went wrong"). Additionally, I am on software 7.2019 and both the 11.2019 and 03.2020 updates were OTA and yet my car still says there is no update available. Any thoughts? |

11/2019 was OTA in the States. 3/2020 was/is not. Not yet at least.

There's a software error in the tcb module causing the disconnection between the app and the car. Bring the car in for service and tell them you're having this issue and they'll program the car to the latest I-level. There's actually an SIB for this issue.

iDrive Software update
I have been there and only thing that ever worked is making an appointment with BMW and getting the idrive software updated to latest version. I tried everything on this forum and nothing worked. By the way am on android.
