Why downgrade from M3 to m340/330? The new G80 is coming out soon nos likely mid to End of this year.

Jeep Wrangler....I know it’s random, but was living in Hawaii and that was the ideal vehicle there to go off-roading.

I am currently driving and original owner of 2007 BMW 335i (160,000 miles). I did an ED in November 2006. I am now 40 and have almost owned this car for 14 years. I have found most new cars not worth the upgrade until I test drove an M340i. I was blown away and anxiously waiting on my car to be delivered. Cheers to all!

Before moving to 2019 320i, I drove a Audi A6 2012. I have to say that I won't be going back to Audi I think they are not as comfy as the new BMW's.

2016 340i M Sport. I miss the smaller size of the F30, but the G20 is amazing.

'17 Alfa Romeo Giulia Base Sport. I've had almost 24 months of driving bliss with it and no mechanical issues. Hate to see it go, but dealing with my local Alfa (see: DJCR) dealership has been a less than stellar experience.

Maybe I'll give it another go down the road, but for now m340i here I come. Looking forward to some more power and a better service experience.

2018 bmw 330i.

I feel like this new body and revamp makes me feel more apart of a luxury and performance segment. Ppl look at your car like you are driving an exotic. As well as you feel it. Absolutely very happy with my purchase and I sometimes don't want to get out my car after a drive.

Def an upgrade!
Thanks, yeah it was a fun car and nissan builds some awesome motors. I just wish they kept up with all the tech and interiors. I toyed with the idea of getting a proper exhaust but held off, figured I'd have some fun with the car for a few years and then move on.

My current M340 and X5 are my first ever German cars. Before this I've only ever done Japanese. So far things have been great!

Wtwo3, is your X5 G05? M340 and X5 G05 this set seems to be the most rational choice. Both cars have the latest tech and IMO the most bargain choice in the sedan and SUV world from BMW.
How would you describe your feelings when shifting from X5 to M340, are you lack of comfort/luxury and space, but gain in acceleration and handling? Is it worth buying M340 after X5 G05?

Yes my X5 is the G05. It's a very different experience between the two. My G05 has air suspension along with acoustic glass, merino leather and massaging seats so it's extremely comfortable. It's also quite quick for a large SUV, but it's not an athlete.

The M340i definitely does not come close in comfort, but makes up for it with pure driving pleasure. It's extremely fast and handles quite well. But you do feel every bump in the road and the seats are a bit harder.

I bought both at the same time, not sure if timing makes any difference. Just depends on your needs. The M340i is more of a toy that you can use as a daily driver but does not offer much utility/space. The G05 an excellent family vehicle.

I'm loving both cars and can strongly recommend them.

Just some late week satire. Still, the G20, must definitely be more fun to drive!

Thank you wtwo3 for sharing this. Mine G05 has also merino and air suspension. Basically I'm missing DHP, and hope M340i will meet my needs in terms of handling without any notable suffer in comfort as usual M series.
BTW full merino is also possible in M340i. whatever the seats are smaller and less comfortable than ones in G05.
