NO MORE newtis.info !!

newtis.info was an invaluable resource for a DIY hobbyist. I would have never been able to complete my VERY LARGE PADDLES without it. Not to mention gather a whole lot of knowledge without that site.

I am assuming BMW forced them to take it down. I DO also believe that they are violating the "right to repair" act. I don't want to be gouged for wanting to fix or learn about my car, when I have already paid a premium for the car itself.

Isn't there something we can do about this?

So sad to see a site go that can be of some use to us DIYers.

I've reverted to ISTA+ using this link: https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1739583

It's VM but works well and has the manual needed to help.

Thanks for that; that seems mighty useful; I better set that up before BMW takes them down too

I must ask now - if I get this VM set up, could I not find and edit/replace my DME file with a "tuned" file, make it think that it is the stock flash, but really download a tune? Again, I would have to locate the maps but that is pretty easy for me.

Just wondering. Thanks nevertheless.

I became a member to agree with this post.

It's very disappointing that this was a trustworthy site that could improve my car's maintenance and troubling situations.
I couldn't have done it without the help of this site to get the M6's engine in neutral when it shut down.

Does BMWAG really have our safety in mind?

Caught in a flood in July 2020, I pressed the SOS button on my BMW to get help from the support center, but they were useless, only hearing the situation repeated.
My car, blocking the road, was stranding emergency vehicles.
They were in a hurry to rescue the nearly submerged town and looked uncomfortable about being stuck in a single squirming BMW.
I became a terrible, miserable embarrassment for myself and my stuck car.

A method of de-gearing, gleaned from my smartphone from a random thought, took the 4,000-pound bogeyman off the road and the emergency vehicle began to move like it remembered its job.
This is the first time I've made conscious use of newtis.info.
I have since learned more about my vehicle.
What is the point of paying for maintenance tips and screw torque?
Are the maintenance notes that have been released bad for the company BMW?
Are they trying to create a mysterious well-broken car like a McLaren or Porsche?
Is a subscription to a screw torque table an area of future growth?
I know BMW claims Sheer Driving Pleasure, and I think it's important to maintain the car in order to drive it.

I wish they wouldn't be so stingy.
