Isn't there a risk on wearing things out quicker?

Any power mods you do to a car that deviates from factory has a chance of wearing things out quicker. If you want more speed, be ready to deal with the problems that come with putting more load and stress on your engine/tranny.

I think in this case however it is ok, because the JB+ is just setting your boost to run under high altitude situations, which means it is still within "stock" parameters. So if it does blow, and you take it to BMW after removing JB+, I think they will still replace it for you, but I can't confirm that because I haven't been there yet.

If you say it's using some kind of high altitude value it must be doing something with more oxygen and changed ignition timing I think. However makes me curious why there is a learning periode involved.

Does anyone have any videos of the JB+ accelerating from 0-62mph (0-100kmh) or any other acceleration videos, with the instrument cluster in view?
It would be great to see how much of an improvement the JB+ has in terms of acceleration. |

Definitely felt the negative difference when I took it off to drive to the dealership for a service 😂
Glad it's back on now and turned up to max! |

I second this. It would be awesome to see a video of the difference. I'm interested in the JB+ but its not worth it if there isnt a noticeable gain.

Unfortunately my experience is quite the contrary. I have installed the JB+ since I got the car and now that it has around 500km on the clock, I took it off for service. As soon as I uninstalled it, I noticed the car runs smoother and the jerkiness at low speed is gone. I am not sure about the power gain/ loss as mostly I do is city driving here in Hong Kong. Then maybe some loss but not sure if it’s just placebo. However the improvement in smoothness and responsiveness is definitely here. I’m wondering if the JB+ works differently on the 320i I got compared to the 330i?

Understand its not a magic wand but curious to know if users have noticed any improvement in the exhaust note or additional burbles after installing JB+ on the 330i?

The exhaust note stayed the same. However, my burbles no longer sound like how they used to before I put on the JB+. I have a muffler delete, so my exhaust is definitely much more sensitive to the changes from the JB+. The duration of burbles is much shorter after JB+, typically the difference is most apparent with JB+ after downshifting from third into second gear at around 2.5k RPM. In higher ranges, the burbles are definitely a little more pronounced than before JB+, and it sounds a bit more aggressive. However, in terms of volume in general, they both sound just as loud, before and after JB+.

I’m contemplating getting a JB+ vs JB4. The website says upto 30whp with JB+ and 40whp with Jb4. Also, the install for JB4 looks like a hassle. Has anyone with the JB+ driven a B48 car with a JB4? If so, any significant difference? $529 vs $199 is a huge difference for just 10whp.
PS - Coming from an A4 B9 with a Racechip ultimate, the stock 330i definitely feels slower. Thus the need for more speed. |

I did consider BM3 but I’m scared about flashing the ECU and BMW finding out somehow and making a fuss if, god forbid, something goes wrong. Same reason why I used a Racechip on the A4 instead of an APR/Revo tune. But yes. If you do go the BM3 way, please do let me know how it is. If there’s a good enough difference, I might go the BM3 way too. I’ll wait before deciding for sure, I guess.

When I drive I’m usually very focused on the road so I never pull up the sports displays, almost completely forgot about them |

Got mine last week and the dial was at 3 o'clock as well. I checked the instruction and it said that the default setting is 4 psi. I just wonder if it is safe to crank it up to 100%.

Did you try it? I'll be getting my jb+ soon and wondering if I can dial it up all the way! Any CELs when doing so?
