Everyone's talking about the grill and the taillights, but am I the only one bothered by the lack of a hoffmeister kink?

At least the past cars looked good and not like this messed up looking car. This car already looks old even tho it's not even released.

I like almost everything behind the front 2" of the car.

I will still wait to see it live as some things do look better in person, but it's not looking promising so far. Perhaps the grilles would be toned down a little (as in maybe it would help avoid seeing they are actually there) if they were all black instead of having the silver outlines.

You’re not the only one!
The grill I can get used to it but can’t seem to understand why BMW would choose to erase the kink! Not only its a trademark and makes the car unmistakably a BMW but it also makes the profile look sportier.
Now it just makes it look like an A5....
I just don’t understand it.

Its really hard to tell this is a BMW from just about any angle... BMW used to be original 20 years ago and did make iconic cars but those times are long gone... they are better served investing money in something like the i4.

Now that the leaked photos of the 4 series seem to be accurate I suspect this will be the front of the M3/4.

Thank you! It makes me sad to see that the kink is no more. I don't really mind the grill or taillights either. But it's not kinky enough to be a BMW IMHO.

Every time a new M3, and now M4, comes out, there's such whining and complaining. Then, they sell way more than the previous generation, and magically, it's the best M car ever. This is the cycle of M, and if the styling makes you want it jump to Lexus or Mercedes, that's fine. I'll take my G80 in a shade of blue.
