395mm or 374mm brakes will fit G20/G21

Hi Guys,

I just bought M340 and would like to do some upgrades, which i can't wait for ;-) I have standard blue m-sport brakes, do you know if it is possible to fit 395mm brakes? I looked online but all i see for G20/21 are 374mm brakes.

Many thanks in advance! :-)

Yes, but you will require the front brake setup from an X5M Competion and the rear brake setup from an X3M Competition.

Thanks for replay ;-) It seems like quite expensive upgrade. I have seen set from X3M for sale but front from X3M will not fit to G21?

This is incorrect information.

The 395mm front 4 piston caliper body fits on G2x hubs using the relevant 395mm (non-M) disc.

iif you put different size brake discs and/or calipers

If you really want to upgrade, look for the F95 X5M or F96 X6M brakes.
They fit the G2x chassis without adapters.
Only the brake disc retaining screw doesnīt fit, but thatīs no problem because you use the bolts anyway.

After this i would code the Alpina brake to DSC ECU.

Some users upgraded their brakes and didnīt change the DSC / ABS coding without having issues.
I would always recommend to code the size that is next to the one used on the car.
e.g. the Performance brake can be HO Wort coded with SPBR.
The car should know the size of the brake and how to apply it.

Yes, this is the ultimate set up - as demonstrated by my other thread showing the plug and play nature. I will also be testing the 380mm rear X5m set up on G2x hub within the next couple of days.

May not be possible to do this beyond the realms of what the car "could" be optioned with from factory. 395mm was never intended by BMW to be offered on G2x - so most likely the only option is to add 374mm, which was the largest factory option for G2x.

Awesome!

F95 X5M rear calipers and 380mm ///M disc bolt up onto G2x rear hub too - just checked last night.

398mm rears from G11 etc also bolt up, if people want even bigger, but no ///M disc there!

Nice! Thanks for you work.
Already saw your post in the Facebook group :-)

So we can use the complete F95 / F96 brake on the G2x?
Maybe you could make a small list of parts to use, especially the discs.
