Hi, I am about to change the stock HK subwoofer in my G20, with Audison APBMW S8-2 model. The installer recommended the 2 ohm which was available, but i saw that Audison recomends the 4 ohm.

My question is, will there be some issues with the amplifier, being requested more power to the subwoofer?

The Data sheet from the subwoofer shown 150W rms continuous and 300 w peak power.

Well the stock Hk ones are 8 ohms, so 2 ohm ones would be basically trying to pull 4x the power.

Probably a bad idea if you aren't changing the amp.

Your installer is an idiot.

There will be issues with the Booster when it tries to be stable at 2ohms when it is designed to drive 8ohms.

also i heard you need to code ASD to OFF as the fake engine sound drives massive amount of bass to the point of risking blowing your sub or amp

Mind me asking how much this ended up costing you? I'm debating on ordering the 440 just to get the HK (I mean so many reasons to get a 440 but I can deal with a 430 just not the base radio)

Still in the process of purchasing it & getting it installed but I budgeted $3K to get everything done, based on my conversation with the dealer/installer. It will be a much superior system to the HK.

Yes, i went with the 4 ohm setup as recommended by audisonq

It works well. The bump is not substantial, but the bass is cleaner. Audison recommended the 4 ohm because i was going to use the built in HK amplifier. The 2 ohm setup requierea more power and a amplifier upgrade.
