Thanks for the info. I ended up ordering my car with this package, but no one knew exactly what it was, lol.
Review of these tires look great on tirerack. I've been driving an X5 for the past 3 years so out of the loop... https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...Pilot+Sport+4S I was going to try to get two cars: DD and "fun" car, but for now I'll just get dedicated summer and winter tires... Looks like 5x112. Bummer. I now have an F30 winter wheel set plus a spare tire to unload
First impressions: steering and suspension much improved compared to the F30 340i Xdrive. With the dumpers in Comfort mode, suspension actually feels stiffer, with less body roll than than the old 340i in Sport mode. Sport is much stiffer. Not as stiff as the F80 M3 though. Somewhere in the middle. Nice ride overall, not too harsh. Steering in Sport does have more feedback. Actually feels like a real car now and not like a videogame. The interior is quieter. Exhaust is louder, especially in Sport, with nice burble on downshifts. Wife knows when I'm coming down the block now. Digital instrument cluster absolutely sucks. However, there's now speed and tach in the HUD, so don't have to look down at the cluster that much... Overall, the car is fun! Back to the wheel problem: I don't feel comfortable driving on NY roads with no spare. Been stranded before. Perhaps with this 5x112 pattern, the 19" Audi expandable spare from the A4/S4 will fit? Seems to have a similar rolling diameter.... |

Well, here goes.
Good news: The Audi spare actually bolts on (bolt pattern and bore diameter are correct), but touches the caliper. Looks like a 10mm spacer is in order. Back to Ebay... Last edited by OldOne; 04-20-2019 at 01:56 PM.. |

So how are these different than the m-sport brakes that are included at no charge? The msport brakes are already larger than the standard brakes. There is a third option? Will the middle tier clear 18" aftermarket wheels? Winter tires in 19" is a little risky to say the least.

For those of us that have to drive the vehicle year-round, the inability to switch to 18" wheels for winter tires is a limitation. We do get some snow and ice and live in a hilly area, so winter tires are almost mandatory.

Its 2019 not 1999 anymore. Huge choice of high performance winter tires for 19, 20 and 21 inch tires.
Michelin pilot alpine v rated. As soft and quite as summer tires - drive great on Boston roads. Nokian Hakkas - if you want to do some Finland auto rally style. |

You must not drive close to the city much. The potholes require 18” as a max unless the wheel wells all of a sudden fit those larger size wheel with big thick sidewalls... even 18” will not last with snow tires like the blizzak. To go up to 18”, you need the strength that nokian provides as a minimum.

19s with Michelin pilot sport 4s do Ok. Actually better vs my wife's former 440 with 18s. (says a lot about how good the suspension is on M340).You have to be slow on raised manholes and obvious stuff. I'm a big proponent of smaller wheels for cars - summer or winter - track included. I'd much rather drive 16, 17, 18 inch wheels vs huge 22 disks. Mass, rotational weight, no air in tires, stiff ride, torn tires will all disappear with small wheels. People forget how nice small wheels feel and how light and nimble they make the car. Instead at least 50 Hp is wasted on rotating huge and heavy rims and tires - all for looks. In the performance cars the reality is - bigger brakes are installed to tame heavy weight and more HP. So only 19s clear the brakes. Same on M2 comp. As for winter - I still prefer Highway snow tires. Like Michelin Pilot Alpine. We do not have winters harsh enough in Boston to justify the noise and handling deficiencies of Hakkapelitas or snow blizzaks. Russia or Finland - would be different story. |

This discussion of wheels & winter tires for ZTK is a good one. Winter is still ~3 months away, but I'm starting to get antsy to figure out what I'll need for my RWD ZTK. We don't get a lot of snow, but it does get decently cold and often icy, so the PSS's are risky at best and dangerous at worst. The M340i deserves good winter rubber.
So does anyone have examples of wheels & winter tire combinations that would work for those of us with ZTK? BMW doesn't list anything yet and my dealer just says to buy another set of 792M's. But that is quite expensive for a winter setup and somewhat boring. I'd like to go with an 18 square setup for winter, but it sounds like that's just not an option with ZTK. I wish TireRack would update their site to include '20 M340i compatible winter wheel & tire packages. My credit card is ready. They have Alpin's, but only available in super-low profile 30/35 in 19". If I can't have 18's, I at least don't want to go even lower profile than the summer's for winter . Last edited by Delta5; 07-23-2019 at 12:31 PM.. |

Can anyone confirm if Canada has this ZTK package?? I got the big 19's with the staggered setup, all performance options but I was never told of a extra oil cooling and brake kit... those brakes are huge on that picture mine are not like that, I checked real oem and it said my vehicle has that extra oil cooler, weird?
