Really don't love how all new BMWs require a digital key delete to put in wireless charging. Does anyone know if they remove physical hardware when they put in the wireless charging pad? Or could digi-key be coded in later?

I'd be tempted to get the digi-key and then retrofit the wireless/lightning pad from JDCars.

It's looking like no heated rears and no ventilation at all.

Looks like we are getting a mild LCI-2 in July 2024 (see https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686)

Perfect for me this, 2027 is too far out afterward starting my lease 02/22.

No doubt they will change the taillights then ( and why they didnt change this time around !)

I think its the opposite. From what I saw when you added the wireless charger it deletes the digital key deletion.. so it adds it... I think.

Try this, go through the configurator, without adding the wireless charger in the summary it says "Deletion of BMW Digital Key -$80"..

If you add the wireless charging the summary only says "Wireless Device Charging $200".

So I think this means that you get both if you add the charger and neither if you don't?

It appears you're absolutely correct! Excellent catch!
Why would they call it the "deletion" of the deletion of the digital key

Great to hear that I'd get both.

Possibly, but I would be more concerned about powertrain changes in a subsequent update - especially for the inline-6. I haven't heard anything but based on where Mercedes and others are going....

there's a new b58-tu coming with more power, incremental improvement kinda deal but it lets everyone know the straight 6 is staying alive awhile longer

Unnecessary arrogant comments based on presumtion of envy from pre-LCI owners…
Keep in mind that many in here can have that new one too if they want it…

So go over it…
How does replacing a 4 inch tall electric toggle, with a 1 inch tall electric toggle mean "the car has no feeling" lol. I bet if it really does affect you, it will be easy to either put in an M Shifter or the pre LCI shifter.

Most comments complaining about an LCI do come from pre LCI owners who would have purchased the LCI no question had they not owned the pre lci, it is pretty cringe.

I had read the post to mean no manual transmission, thus "no feeling." Either way, it's hyperbole, and the loss of tactile feedback can be attributed to a lot of things going back years. LCI has nothing to do with that. People just want to complain.

That said, I'm in the minority of drivers who use the gear selector in manual mode, not the paddles. In that respect, pre-LCI suits me better.

I'd love some coverage of a car in something other than frozen grey

How do you shift into sport transmission now? I use it often to stop the engine auto stop from engaging when I don't it too.

Looks like you can still double shift down into Sport mode with D/S

So a double pull downwards it looks like. I will miss the gear shift to the left. But I guess if it works, it works.

How would one add these CF trims to their order?

Also very interested in this. Is it a port install after you pick the MP parts in the config at the dealer?

Kind of weird to me that they'd go all out on MP carbon parts but not offer the carbon roof like the EU M340i..

https://www.shopbmwusa.com/ACCESSORIES The MP site lets you select the 2023 M340i but all the pictures are of the pre-LCI so I'm a bit skeptical.

Only one pic is of the LCI and judging by its poorly-named title, I'm assuming they're in the process of updating:

Here's a post from Bob in May with the diffuser and same front splitter. Hard to tell if it's carbon fiber but still..

Anyone know what the current wait time is on these? I have an allocation for an I4 M50 but I won't be seeing that at least until next year

People are consistently being told 3-4 month turn around for the new 3 series. Estimated 6 month wait time for mine due to special order.

I'm sure glad I bought a 2022. The ID8 screen looks horrible and taking away the stick, really a poor move. Just my opinion. Who in their right mind would want more screen just to show all the finger prints? Why don't they just add more piano plastic because god knows that doesn't scratch at all. As far as charging for add-ons like heated seats and steering wheel after purchase, BMW replied to my email stating as far as right now that will not be coming to the USA market for the time being. What are the executives thinking!
