Let's talk about keys

So the G20 has multiple methods to lock, unlock, and start your vehicle.

Other than the standard 2 Keyfobs, what is your experience and how do you find the other methods?

-Digital Keycard (Wallet Card)
-BMW app
-Samsung phone with NFC?
-Other countries BMW Digital Display key

I personally find myself using the BMW app when warming up the car during these cold winter months and unlocking the doors more often than the standard keyfob from the office and home.

Have not much luck with the Digital Keycard, but BMW App + this Digital keycard allows to free up you pockets and hands.

Too bad the BMW App does not have trunk release feature or status.

Comments and thoughts?

I use the app too. I remote start it via the app and then walk to the car with the keys in my pocket. Comfort access helps there.

Same. App to start and preheat the cabin, and proximity key for everything else. I haven't even activated my digital wallet card key.

I use the Digital Key card whenever I dont have my work bag with me. So after work, on weekends, Happy hour, whenever I go out for lunch etc. Keys stay in my work-bag, while Digital Keycard stays in my Credit card holder and thus I always have it with me.

The phone is used merely for remotely checking fuel range, ensuring all doors are locked, turning on ventilation, activating panic alarm, sending address to navi etc. My Digital card is faster at unlocking my car.

I just use my keyfob most of the time. If it's not that it's the digital key card. The app started working today for me after doing one of a members recommendations, so will use the app to check status of vehicle more often again (which is what I primarily used the app for)

I say they should add the ability to rev from the key fob in addition to remote start. It should have 3D Touch to control the amount of rev.

I use the app to remote start the car every day and I flip flop between using my phone's NFC (Samsung S10+) and the key fob.

I initially intended to use the fob often and my phone when I go to the gym or something but I end up just leaving the key inside the car and locking with my phone's NFC on the door handle. I have the key card in my wallet too so I'm pretty much carrying around 3 different keys haha

While I use comfort access with key fob a great deal, I do also use my Samsung S8 with NFC & app occasionally. Haven't used digital key card much. I also have used remote start occasionally

If you leave the key in the car what is to stop someone walking up to the car as you walk away and unlocking the door, as the key will still be active, using the comfort access. Or am I missing something here?
