Programming TPMS on car that didn't come with one

Hey anyone has a car that didn't come with TPMS, is it easy to program TPMS into the car?

Thought I'd ask the Aussies first before asking the general forum

Do you have E-Sys? If so should be pretty simple to VO code once sensors installed. Then can use bimmercode for the widget on the cluster.

There's a good thread in the coding section of bimmerpost that has the vo coding

To be honest I have no idea. It just worked.

Someone a lot more clued in can probably let you know the details of how it all works but there wasn't any special coding or calibration. I just got the sensors fitted, did the VO coding and after driving about 10 minutes it started working.

Can someone please confirm, if your car didn’t come with TPMS is it just a matter of installing the modules in the wheels and VO coding and it works?

With the packages now you can’t buy TPMS unless you pay around $3000 for the entire pack.

Thanks

do you have to buy BMW TPMS or will 3rd party work?

so i presume even though my car comes with only FTM, it comes with the bluetooth (or whatever receiver) at each corner of the car to detect signal from the TMPS? otherwise it won't work just like that.

I bought BMW sensors but there are threads on the forum of it working with some 3rd party sensors too of the right frequency (I think they were still made by OEM manufacturer).

I believe all the other required hardware is already there, at least it was on my 2021 M340.
