I have a '20 m340i, DME production date of 05/19 and vehicle production 06/19. Vehicle was updated with the November update in 2021 by dealership. I am trying to unlock with having to go to someone saving a couple hundred bucks.

You likely (I may be wrong) need to get a bench unlock. I recently went through the same with my Mission Performance flashed 2020 after a dealer update. I originally flashed in my driveway and when back from the dealer (after update) it was locked. Fortunately MP solved the problem remotely but otherwise it would have been a bench unlock.

Also cool thanks to MP's wizardry my car came back from the dealer with no flags that it was flashed

Anyhoo if you are a BM3 customer - find a local tuner to unlock and you will be able to flash your tune again

You NEED a bench unlock to flash BM3. There is no way around it right now.

Has anyone reached out to M Engineering to see if they want to take a crack at unlocking this DME?

I don't believe that they do work on BMWs, but maybe it would be worth a try?
