Radio station avatar and album art not showing?

Help, went to the dealership and they updated my software, then my iDrive radio stations avatar and album art are all showing some very generic arts. Thx

Have you checked the Privacy Settings you have chosen in iDrive? Maybe that's the issue.

Also make sure you reboot iDrive, just in case. For that, press and hold the volume knob until the main screen turns off.

Just took a look and my iDrive doesn't not show the same thing under data privacy...

Are you running iDrive 7? Did you restart iDrive? Can you make a video of what you see?

Still no luck after rebooting iDrive. Here are some photos showing my Data Privacy which looks different...

Bump. Anyone? Just realized that the art would pop up rarely once in a while... but it goes away if I change the station...

Hi, not much help here but I share the same disappointment with this.

By comparison, my mum has a fairly mid-range VW Polo, prob something like 2018/19 ish and on her radio all the stations have their correct graphics avatars associated to them all the time.

In short you’d expect better (or at least the same!) from BMW... although with a lot of their software integration, over time you come to get used to it!

Like you, I’ve seen the odd one or two stations display the correct avatars occasionally, but it’s generally a sea of generic and drab looking nonsense.

I’ve recently been updated to iDrive 03/2021.30 - I’ll double check again that it’s no better, as in the week or so I’ve had it I’ve mainly been using Amazon music so not really been looking. On all the previous software updates prior to this, it was just the same, i.e. not working very well.

I remember the same issue with my Audi. I think part of the problem is the crappy, inconsistent DAB service in the UK.

Same issue with my G20 330e. I think it is an iDrive 7 software issue. I figured out that if I change to a station and I let play that station for about 30 seconds and then flip 1 station back and 1 station forward to the station I listened to for 30 seconds, the station art / avatar appears.

So I think receiving the station art takes more time then BMW developers thought it would last. I think the piece of code that loads the station art should run continuously until the station art is actually found and loaded. And it does not right now. It only runs once and then stops.

By flipping back and forward I force that lines of codes to run a second time.

Exactly the same issue in my BMW 745e (2022)…..it worked som months ago, but suddenly, it stopped working (and instead I see the girl with the headphones).

Any ideas how to solve this?

I have the same issue on my MY20 330i. Version 07/2023.53
In Australia we have DAB+. Not sure how that differs from the UK DAB.
No pictures/Avatars for me either. Though I do get the scrolling text. Such as song titles, weather temps, and news headlines.
