G20 clunking noise / weird steering
Hello! I've got a 2019 330d RWD with adaptive suspension. The car's steering and suspension are absolutely perfect for the first 15-20-30 minutes of the drive (I guess depending on how hot it is). After that strange things happen:
1) A clunk from the passenger side of the vehicle can be heard over bumps. I would also say that this clunk can be heard as well as felt. 2) The steering itself acts weird - when the steering wheel is centered and I turn it to the right side, there are some places where the steering "lags". Like there is inconsistent pressure required to turn the wheel back and forth. Some kind of mini blockage. Would you say that's a tie rod problem or steering rack problem? Thank you in advance! |

This might be related to the infamous suspension “clunk” thread. I suggest searching the forums for that main thread that has several members and what they have tried. For some warranty replacement of tie rod, steering rack have helped and for others not. There is a TSB out relating to this.
