The shade of red is very pretty, what color is it? Also they should add it to the G20 3er, would look great on there.

Overall shape looks a little less sleek from the side compared to the F36, and not too keen on the 2GC looking window design.

Looks good overall IMHO. Although still not a big fan of the grilles on the regular 4 series even though I love them on the G8x models.

What is going on with the lower black piece on the rear design? That part in the sides is not good at all

I think that the cerium grey trim bits on the m-performance models have run their course. It stands out in a way that doesn't really benefit the aesthetics of the car, IMO.

Yeah I noticed that too. A little too much "sportiness". Really digging that color though.

Wow so BMW is really giving "M Mirrors" on standard cars now?

Right as the design team has been preaching about differentiating the cars too. Pretty ironic.

Agree, shadowline is the way to go, much easier to clean too.

Base Model HP

Love the car but why are Bimmer's base models still only pushing 250 hp?…

My 2010 1er coupe has a 230hp (L6)

So 11 years and only 20 more hp…I know its a turbo 4 cyl now but damn

Yeah I don't get it. 200+lbs heavier, taller by 2 inches, Full M mirrors with 90s parts bin door handles. It's also geared different. Why not get an M340i ? Who does this model target? I get the 8 series GC but with the 3 series bridging that gap, to me, it doesn't make sense.

Definitely for the people who'd sacrifice practicality for style. Definitely a market out there (S5 sportback, Stinger, Arteon, CLA) With the former iteration the 4 gran coupe looked way better than the 3. I guess this year the 3 took that title back. Also the hatch is another selling point.

I agree though, the 3 is the better choice.

Better looking than the coupe for sure, still hard to love the "soft" side profile and that tall rear end. Hoping it at least drives as well as the 3 series.

Hmm... Doesn't look bad, but I guess I just don't understand the point of the 4 GC. I know it's supposed to be more sporty, but to me the M340i looks more sporty than this does. I like to see the options, though, and like the practicality of a hatchback.

Gran coupe is more practical than sedan, the hatch is why people like it (myself included)

This.

It isn't an SUV, but I can fit a lot of 8 foot lumber in my 440 via the hatch...(and have over the past year).

I have been waiting for this car since my F36 430i lease ended in Oct 2020!!

Is it just me or do the grills look different on the coupe, gran coupe, vs. i4?!

Why wouldn't they have brought iDrive 8 to this model? It's going to be out for one year and then get it?
