"Remote Software Upgrade is currently not possible"
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I have a 2019 330i xDrive purchased CPO. For the past year, I've tried to install the RSU. I know there's chatter about this everywhere. My situation is a bit different, because I am frequently prompted by the car to install it but it always fails. The error message I receive each time is: Remote Software Upgrade is currently not possible. You will be given the chance to install the upgrade again shortly. Has anyone seen this before? Any insights or solutions? I, regrettably, have an appt with the stealership tomorrow to address. I hate going there. I know people have been paying $300-$400 for the install. I am going in prepared to fight that. I've printed multiple pages from the BMW website stating RSUs are free. |

No, the RSU has since expired so I have to download it again. I haven't seen the car in a week because it's been in the shop for an elusive check engine light. After I get it back, I may try the upgrade in iDrive mode to see what happens.

Same here. 2020 M340, it took months to get to point where it prompted me to install the update and it failed with the same message the OP gets but it will probably take months to get the prompt again. I have used the CTEK, the car was parked on a serious pitch and it was well below 50 degrees F. This simply shouldn't be. I purchased this car new for 70k and bought the extended warranty but it's a ride and a lot of wasted time to bring it to the dealership

I see many posts having the same issue and the only solution is bringing it to the dealer.
I had this issue last year and having it again. The dealer installed for me last year for free when I was still in original warranty. Now I’m at extended warranty and I assume they will do it for free as well. |
