positive feedback from bystanders
About 3 months into ownership now and it’s been pretty amazing how feedback is almost always positive. I’ve had thumbs up from pedestrians and even a shark blue 718 gt4 on the parkway that pulled along side of me. This weekend in nyc a guy walking past stopped to say “this is my favorite car in the world, congratulations”
I think the color helps and the attainability factor does too. How’s everyone else been received? |

Tough question. My G83 was totaled on Valentine’s Day, I have new one sitting at the port right now. But when Baby Blue was alive and running she caused more conversations than a Victoria Secret model in purple lace!! They are lookers and people who know cars would always stop to chat about it. My favorite was a bunch of jr high kids who asked me to rev my engine and their reaction was truly priceless. I’m still in mourning, I’m just not sure if it’s because I’m driving a rental Kia Soul or I miss my Baby Blue!!

I have recieved a lot of positive feedback. I've been stopped by people in multiple places, gas stations, stores, red lights. Had a guy follow me into the Best Buy parking lot to see the car. I think the IOMG adds to it. I often get compliments on the color. People love the interior too and the CF seats.

I get comments, thumbs up, and waves all the time. Also get people who will take photos while stopped at a stop light, etc.
I’ve never gotten this many compliments or comments on a car I’ve owned. My wife almost gets embarrassed by it when ever she rides in my car as it happens that often.

I get the occasional thumbs up and had a few fun encounters with some nice cars (GTR, R8) and sportbikes. Coming from a Supra, this gets less attention, but it’s definitely more than expected.
One thing I don’t get is recognition from other M car owners. Some of them could be stopped right next to me with their windows down but they don’t seem to care at all. Maybe I just live in an unfriendly town lol |

I’ve had the car for three weeks (Alpine White G80) and everyone who sees it loves it. Also, everyone comments favorably regarding the grill.
A lot of people have never seen this car, even in photos, and it really doesn’t look like anything else. It has a wow factor that gets lost on us enthusiasts sometimes. |

Not much here. Get more comments, pictures taken, waves, gas station chats, in a week in my 1965 replica than all last year in the M4C.
BMW are pretty common here.

Been pretty good over here in Georgia. I get a lot of positive attention from M-lite, other G8x, R8's, Huracans, older Ferrari model owners, and pedestrians. I get the cold shoulder from previous gen M3/M4 owners, and ricer boys (Riced out civics, type R, the small three Frs, 86, Brz). No thumbs up or a noticeable glance over, they just stare at me when I wave hi and then they just floor it off the red light and then we meet again at the next once I get there at legal speeds.
I'm guessing some of the previous gen guys and the ricer guys are the same person in different cars |

VERY positive reactions. I was flagged down by a pedestrian a couple of weeks ago and he circled me to the Starbucks drive thru...he proceeded to buy me a cafe Americano (without provocation)
I thanked him and went about my day...so yes, everyone loves this car |

It seems to vary quite a bit based on where you are. When I was picking up my car from PCD, driving through rural areas I got a LOT of attention. In parking lots random people would stop and talk to me about it.
Here in Chicagoland I don't get much feedback at all. You'll get the occasional look or thumbs up or picture snap, but it's not anywhere near what I experienced on my drive up from PCD. Granted I don't drive much. I will say, I used to make fun of people claiming they got a ton of attention in this car - saying things like, ok this isn't a Ferrari, settle down. But I'll eat my words... it definitely garners some attention based on your location.

Lots of look backs, kids who stop paying attention when they are walking and a few thumbs up.
Had one kid at a gas station ask if I could let him take some pics. Opened the door for him so he could take some interior pics. One drive thru kid handed my kids food and said “that is my dream car right there”. This is in just past 2 months of ownership. It must be noted Ottawa is a government town and has the highest per capita Subaru ownership rate in Canada. |

Lots of love in MD, especially from other BMW enthusiasts and owners. And I get a lot of attention from non-car people, who just like the way the car looks. A lot of females stare, from age 12 to 72. The car is eye-catching, it stands out.
And then other days, I blend right in...and I'm totally OK with that too. For me, it's just enough attention, and from the right people (which for me is all types ). |

Nobody cares in central Maryland (AaCo, MoCo, HoCo). Everyone has a luxury car. I also think it has a lot to do with paint color. I think IOMG and yellow will get the most attention. Anything else doesn't seem to register.

I've had my car a few days and the attention level has been insane. I've had people give thumbs up driving by, take pictures and videos, and compliment the car when I'm stopped. Most compliments are about the color (IOMG). I'm actually taken aback as my M2 was barely noticed.

My favorite and LEAST favorite person who says nice things about my car is the local cop who periodically follows me to the grocery store to get updates on how the car has been to own. I had my M2 the first time he did this, and he absolutely gushed over the M3 when I got it. He's my least favorite at times, of course, because I can't see which cop is following me until we stop. But once I know it's him, it's always a fun chat.
