2024 M340i Exhaust Confusion

I don’t know what exhaust I should get. I am running everything stock so far. I just broke in my 2024 m340. I wanted to get a after market exhaust. The m performance is just quiet for the price. Ideally I want a valved exhaust. I don’t want to spend way to much though. I was looking at Dinan and AWE. I was thinking of those valvetronics supplier from alibaba too. Any suggestions or advice would be so much appreciated. Also question about warranty too. Will my warranty get voided? Did you guys recommend installation through the dealership or a local auto shop? Thank you

Welcome. Highly recommend searching the forum as the exhaust topic has been covered countless times throughout the years. There are several valves exhaust options. At the end of the day, it’s up to you, your budget, your subjective volume tolerance and noise preference.
As far as warranty, exhaust should not void warranty.
Installation is dependent on your area, prices, quality, etc. if you have a local Indy shop that specializes in BMW, then that would be the most ideal imo, plus supporting a local business.

I’d go with Dinan, it’s one of the more aggressive sounding valved systems. Plus it’s quite a bit cheaper than the MPE ($2900 vs $3400) and you get more value out of it. Dual valves, tips etc. I sort of looked at AWE but it was almost $4000 CAD with the tips. And you don’t have any valves. Warranty is also easy through Dinan because they have dealers everywhere. A dealer charged me 2.5hrs labor.

I’d second going with the Dinan. Similar sound as the MPE, but much more sporty looking as it’s quad outlet. I’ve mine paired with the AA down pipe. Much more aggressive, and being able to switch from open/close valves is dope.

I have the valvetronic exhaust on my 22 m340i. I bought it on Black Friday so I feel a little better about the price lol. However, if I could go back in time I would just get the valved full catback from alibaba. The design is the exact same and for just a fraction of the price.

I’m pretty sure valvetronic gets it from china and just slaps their own logo on it. No matter how much they deny it, that is the reality. So you’re better off just getting it from alibaba and save your money.

I would stay away from those axle back exhausts. I say that bc I personally dont think the valvetronic is loud enough for me so the axlebacks would 100% not be something I’d like. Dont get me wrong, its definitely much louder than before but still quiet in my opinion. I plan to go catless downpipe eventually so hopefully that helps.

Another option is the MAD full exhaust system. This one retains the oem valve capabilities as well.

Also, your warranty does not get voided for installing an exhaust but the exhaust will not be covered under warranty anymore. Its probably the safest mod you can do and I wouldn’t be worried about an exhaust giving you issues.
