Original Spoiler was Installed with Urethane

I recently purchased a used 2021 M340i from the dealership. They claimed that it was all stock.

I went to a wrap shop to get my car PPF’d (the paint was an individual color and was still in great condition) and they had told me they cannot remove the spoiler as it was glued on with Urethane… This was a problem because I wanted to replace my spoiler after the PPF but to the sound of it, removing the OEM spoiler will likely damage the paint.

Is the spoiler generally installed at the factory with Urethane? Has anyone run into this issue before? Any way to remove the spoiler without damaging the paint? Going to be speaking with the dealership to see if they can do anything about this.

If it’s been done by BMW, then they usually use betalink. Which seems to be pretty difficult to remove without some sort of paint damage.

There is a thread here on the topic, but I don’t have any personal experience with it as I’ve always used 3M tape

They might have changed the process since as my 2024 M340i trunk lip spoiler was held on with double sided tape.
