B58TU cutting power

Hi I have a 2020 stage 2 X3M40i (B58) I feel like I would get a better answer if I post a thread here rather than on the X3-X4 forums, anyways sometimes when I floor the car the car just pulls just like a stage 2 B58 should but the thing is sometimes it just cuts power let’s say I would floor the car in first gear sometimes it takes a second or two to get going and starts to pick up after 5K RPMs and then gets going in second gear, or when I floor it in 2nd-3rd or even when I kick down from a higher gear it’s the same story it just limits the power.

Now I know it’s not the TCS since I drive with it off all the time. Neither is it the transmission because I have a stage 3 XHP.

I also want to mention that whenever I plug in a code reader it always shows me a code saying DME interface timeout, and even when I clear the code I go to check it a day later and it pops up again. This is driving me crazy and I don’t know what else to do, I even brought it to bmw and after 20K$ in extended warranty repairs still the same issue.

The car just holds back the power whenever it wants to and gives me full power whenever it wants to, does anybody know the fix to this issue? Could it be the electronics limiting the power? Some help would be very appreciated as I am desperate to fix this issue. Thank you!

You need to be data logging when this happens so we can help you. Fuel quality is huge; we need to see how much timing the tune is pulling, for example.

Also, did you do the tuning yourself? It sounds like MAYBE one of your DME connectors is not fully properly seated...

Thank you for the response I will log my tune, but about the DME code yes I unlocked the DME myself and have done it many times on a S58 before so I’m pretty familiar with it, not to mention before I got a DME unlocker I had my tuner do the unlocking for me and even then I was still getting this code.

Do a throttle adaptation reset.

I had a similar issue, sometimes car would have like an extra second or two of lag when flooring it. After I did a throttle rest, issue seems to go away.
