I drive an accord coupe as a DD.... love it actually in it's humble way. Try and drive a BMW for 90k miles and only need oil changes, kind of amazing.

Can't the same be said about pretty much any coupe with a front mounted engine, approximate same proportions, 2+2 configuration?

The official reveal of the G22 will come before the official reveal of the G82, yes.

How much time will separate them? We don't know for sure yet, but see the dates on the following posts for how tight the turn-around from Series to M models can be today:

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1630133
https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1657119

Just four months separated those two. So, because we expect to see the G22 about seven years from this guy:

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=853135

It means we might see the G82 a little sooner than seven years from this guy:

It'll be pretty much the same front end, right?
The grill in particular will be the exact same size/shape with a different finish/pattern, yes. The headlights will also be the same, as will the hood line. The rest of the front end will differ in all the ways an M typically differs from the non-M vehicle from which it derives. See the above X6 and X6 M threads for one example. Of course, the M4 will also get wider fenders, as you can see from the old 4 Series and M4 threads above.

It Looks pretty quick on the ring, at least as fast as the F82. Pretty impressive.

Without seeing the grille I find these videos repetitive.

I could see myself with a nice M4 someday. I agree that you can't judge the car without seeing the grill more clearly

I'm sorry, I really like what BMW is doing lately, so much so I have bought 2, but seriously, didn't Volvo try this design a number of years back?? Was it the C70 or something like that....

I was really expecting more. Long stretched out coupes... Meh. The S58 is such an awesome engine! I absolutely love it! And this is all they could come up with to wrap it in? I mean, with so many good design points right now. They clearly blew the budget on the M8. I just don't get the "stretch out what we already have done" theory.... a coupe has to have the right proportions or it's a two door hearse.

This is what came out of the conversation of: "can't we make a car version of an X4 and just delete the back doors?"

I just think it's funny how a lot of people complained about the 1-series looking stubby, so now they making some proper flowing coupe designs and everyone says it's still wrong. I'll take this over the blocky trunk designs any day.

They are stretching it because MB is stretching them. Everything BMW is doing is now a carbon copy of what MB is doing. It has been for the last 4-5 years.

BMW branding is dead.

M4 rides to rough for me. It's why I bought the 440 instead. Good power and comfortable.

I hate the Lexus grill on so many models, but I gotta, say the LC is actually really good looking, I think the grill actually fits the car well!

That's a really good point. I have actually never driven an M car so I really cant say anything for sure.

It already has been. By the time the car is actually in dealers, we should be past most of it.

It sounds like from what Adrian I think said, they knew we would all whine about it and maybe even hate it, but they didn't care because the US market would buy it anyway.

I don’t doubt he said that but can you recall how you might have heard that? In a YouTube clip or an interview transcript in a magazine or internet article? I’d like to read the whole thing. Not to argue with you or cast doubts on your comment but I’m curious as to what he expected as an initial reaction.

I tried to find the article, but can't seem to. I want to think I read it on here somewhere.

Dealers would rather hear whining than the silence of empty showrooms.
