For me it is the opposite, it would help break up the length of the grills. Euro plates will look the best, bisecting them into top and bottom grills. Normally I hate front plates, but in this case it might be the way to go.

Also remember this plate in the spy pic is on cladding, you can see the swirl camo under the swirl cladding. I would bet the plate bracket will be more integrated than what you see. In the F80 leak, you can see a black bar built into the middle of the grills, similar to Audi.

Normally I am fine with style changes and over the years, I usually am in the camp of "everything will be fine" but this just looks atrocious to the point that I may not even consider one for my next performance vehicle :-(

Personally , this Doesn't look much different from the M340. Yes there is an additional area below but that looks like it's primarily for cooling. Plus they still haven't figured how to get a radar sensor smaller than the size of a grapefruit. The plate in the middle breaks that up.


The bunmerpost render exaggerates the kidneys and has the odd central line. That's not there and the grill slats don't run the full length.

Me thinks they must have created their render with "hints " from @scott26 ...

The mesh covers the entire grill, not just the top.

Looking at these photos and the leaked front from a factory I'm starting to wonder if the grills on the 4 series/M4 will be different than on the M3. These G22 spy shots show more rounded contour of the grill than the factory leaks.

Well, thankfully the grilles look wider under the camo than they do in that ghastly leak of the grey car. Hopefully that leaked car is just at a bad angle or something because those look too skinny to be proportional.

The white 8series leak had a similar skinny look. Definitely a product of the camera being used.

Hence what he....and I....and Scott26....and so many others have stated (...and are trying to relay to you). The M3/M4 will have the exact same front end/front grilles. There is bound to be a difference between the M front bumper/grilles and the regular 4 Series, but they will all have the larger grilles unlike the 3 Series.
