Can we talk about how there are now 2 buttons labelled "P" on the gear selection area. Now obviously, us enthusiasts will know the top one is Park for transmission, and the bottom is parking break, but will joe casual ?

Laser light option was removed entirely for G20 LCI. You'll have nicer DRLs along with the adaptive LEDs, but no laser beams.
Man, that's too bad. Having "lasers" on your car just sounded cooler. 😅 Glad I was able to get one.

Thinking about it, we are all talking about the looks and the interior. But what about the handling and engines.

They don't really appear to be have been updated at all, a bit of market speak but nothing showing as game changing as have been in the past. Same power outputs, even the 330e doesn't seem to have increased range or if it has only a little bit. No major jump in the exterior tech no level 3 autonomy or anything like that.

Maybe a little short changed for a non in significant increase. Mmmm

This is the most lazy design effort I have ever seen!

Did they really just tack on a screen instead of properly building/integrating it into the dash🙄🙄 so it looks clean… this is literally horrible!!

I am sorry but I have been a huge Bmw fan for many many years. I own 2020M4 and 2022 LCI. X3m 40i. 202 M2C. I don't get why they would tack the screen onto the dashboard like that this is got to be the most lazy cheapest way to comp out on producing a proper update for this vehicle.

Bmw continues with this Jenkee design language their cars are going to attract all kinds of strange energy and it's going to have a direct impact on everything and everyone.. I get that Bmw is trying to push design language to electrification but to completely go in an oddball design language is just crazy to me. Audi and Porsche are taking Bmw customers….

If left up to vocal-minority forum folks, BMW would only make 500hp purple metallic station-wagons with 6MT and no screens and plastic buttons galore and have it be as short as a 2008 128i so the whole package could weigh 2,800 pounds and be "tossable" and it would look like an LCI of an LCI of a design from 2013.

BMW would be dead in short order if they listened to some of you literally. It's to the point where it may make sense for them to actively do the opposite.
Disagree. BMW wouldn't lose any sales if they kept a shifter, angel eyes, and had more dialed in steering. I'm not asking for E90 level steering weighting or feedback, but a better compromise than BMW's work the past decade.

i like! progressive and aggressive design!

it's funny though, pre-LCI owners are the ones saying "it's ugly, thank god I have a '22 model, etc" - heck, I was guilty of that too when I had my 2019 M550i and the 5-series LCI was announced

If we're narrowing the discussion to the implementation of the all-digital dashboard… Personally I love the floating screen design. I think it would look really dated and ugly if they built a big binnacle that extended over 3/4 of the dash. This minimalist look is so much cleaner and modern.

Of course I'd rather have analog gauges, but…

This is a good point. All LCI "improvements" are styling and electronics. Where's the beef?

Perhaps that will come if you order the M Performance exhaust now? That would be a heck of a lot better than the current muffer with the same tips.

Nope. In one of the videos the blame was placed squarely on the USDoT and some arcane regulation. No surprise there, that shower wouldn't know a good headlight if you bashed them on the head with one.

That's exactly why they didn't show pictures of the base version at the launch. It shows up the M Sport to be a jumbled hot mess. Interior is still ugly with that screen IMHO

Alright enough of whining and crying……save some for the next model release. By that time this car would be perfect for everybody and the new one will be an evil redesign

When are the orders opening so I can get two of these

I´m waiting for MY22 delivery M340i and I have zero reasons to be unhappy that I won´t have the LCI.

1) I like pre-LCI interior better. IMO buttons are much better in real life and also design of the whole dash is better on pre-LCI.

2) rear exterior design..... it´s just not working on photos. Too "I´m so aggresive diffuser"

3) front is the only part of the car which probably looks more modern....bud still looks too "EVish" to me. Front bumper used to be more agressive.

4) I like new headlights a bit more (mine will come with adaptive LED with shadow lights)

OVERALL: Front better, Rear worse, Interior very weird choices by BMW.

Not everyone things like you… Some really put an accent on design, personal perception and taste and not on other people beliefs…

New doesnt mean beautiful or better. (No more lasers, tacky screeen, tacky diffuser, no stick which means no car feeling, etc)
Unnecessary arrogant comments based on presumtion of envy from pre-LCI owners…
Keep in mind that many in here can have that new one too if they want it…

So go over it…
