You know I have to say, now that a bit has elapsed I've already grown used to the angular overly aggressive new rear valence on this LCI. 🙄

I still low key hate the new screen and lack of shifter knob but I think it too will just grow on me with the relentless march of time.

Glad they kept the iDrive button/scroll wheel. Navi/Media screens in cars without such option are a pain to control. However, with the new 2 Active / Gran Tourer in Europe they already ditched it, which is a mistake in my opinion!

LCI looks fairly conservative, which is a good thing for the 3 Series audience I think.

Steve Thomas BMW in Camarillo, CA mentioned that they had slots open already for the 2023 LCI. They led me to believe they'd be able to submit orders mid-July. $5k ADM for locals, 10k for non-locals.

Said it'd be very unlikely they'd have any 2023s on the lot for awhile for me to come sit in. All the 2022 M340s they sold never went on display to the public. Only way I'd get to toy around with the ID8 is if an order fell through.

Hope these are glitches but they line up with the UK/GER M340i configurator:

- Cooling and Tire Package forces bi-color silver/black wheels.
- Shadowline trim forces red calipers that you can't change (M Perf base packages keeps blue calipers)
- You get dark headlights with the M-Perf base Trim. You get shadowline headlights with the Shadowline Trim.
- For some reason, if you swap to Shadowline Trim and then back to the M-Perf Base Trim, you get what appear to be Laser Lights
- No carbon fiber roof options in the US?

Observed differences:

Shadowline Trim:
- Blacked-out headlights, red calipers, gloss black (tiny) lip spoiler

Shadowline Package (from the options tab):
- Blue accent headlights (read above about this maybe being a glitch), blue calipers (from base M-Perf Trim), body-color (tiny) lip spoiler

The look of a rectangular display hovering in front of a nicely styled dash is not very good. It looks like the display was tacked on at the last minute. Definitely prefer my 2022 with the display sculpted into the dash contours.

Still in disbelief that we can't get Active Cruise Control (never mind Driving Assistance Professional) in a 330i, but I'm planning on an M340i anyway. Sure would like to wait for "hands-free tailgate operation" as I use that feature often. The red calipers aren't my preference but that's easy enough to modify after delivery.

If you keep the M-Perf Trim (don't select the Shadowline Trim) and add Shadowline Extended in the Options tab at the end of your config, you get all the gloss black elements (except the spoiler) and you get to keep blue calipers.

Also as an unrelated side note, no carbon fiber roof in the US like the GER/UK config shows?

What's with the "Delete hands free tailgate operation -$100" option on the summary? Is this some chip shortage crap or is an option I'm choosing pushing that?

I also don't see a power tailgate option?

Disappointing they got rid of laser lights, gesture control, and power tailgate maybe. Also wish you could get the red calipers without the shadowline package.

My dealer sent me the ordering guide, I can confirm that for some stupid reason the ZHO Shadowline Package is the only way to get "552 LED Lights With Cornering Lights"

Does any know if rear heated seats are available for the LCI? I didnt see it on the spec sheet. I must be the only person in the world that orders that. lol
