So far the fitment with the Ali Exhaust and 5” MAD downpipe are perfect for the most part, haven’t discovered any rubbing, clearance or fitment issues shown during installation. I am going to be getting a mishimoto charge pipe put in and then get some sound clips.

Which exact alibaba exhuast did you get? Tons of them from the same manufacturer and I have no idea what the difference between them is. What diameter piping did you get? Also, how did you wire the valves? And have you noticed any rattling/clearance issues with the chassis brace in the middle?

Wiring: I let my friend handle the wiring but from a distance, it just looks like he routed everything into the trunk (electronic valve controller)

Rattling/Clearance Issue: None at all to my surprise, the amount of clearance from the piping and my stock mid brace is about 0.75'', there is no vibrations or rattling driving with valves opened or closed in sport or comfort mode at all. This may sound a bit repetitive but even with the freeflow downpipe the car sounds strikingly similar to stock, especially with the windows up

There is no middle button when you press on the “middle” you’re pressing both at the same time, hence why both of the activate.

Just curious - what are you guys telling people who ask you what cattback you guys are running ?

Do you find it easier to just tell people it's a MAD or Valvetronic....... Or do you actually tell people it's an AliBaba Chinese exhaust ?

I told some friends from work that I had put some parts on my M240 from AliExpress and I never heard the end of it. Even though I explained to them that the exact same parts that US shops sell are all coming from China.

I hear you. The fact that we can get a comparable or even better product , for half the price in many cases, makes me appreciate Ali product options.

And I made an attempt to explain that Ali products are literally the exact same thing that US / Euro companies are selling with their added branding.

Hell even Steve dinans carbahn is selling rebranded Ali baba exhausts for an insane markup and people just eat that shit up because he name is attached to it. People are fools. Guy is laughing all the way to the bank.

The rebranding for a modest margin is acceptable but the margins I have seen lately is ridiculous. The prices I see for exhaust for these cars is pure and simple greed. There's absolutely no reason for any exhaust with cuurent price of stainless to exceed $1100. I want people to make money and be successful but dam. It costs no more than $400 to make a full stainless exhaust with materials and welder.

Agreed completely. Once a company has the initial design and the fitment, the r&d part is done with.

Then to turn around and charge $3k and more for every unit built thereafter, is ridiculous.

I remember back in the day when I had a G37 and thought that $1,200 for a catback was big money lol.

The more money that US / Euro companies charge, just means more opportunity for sites like Ali to take a chunk of the sales. If the savings from a Chinese website was only a couple hundred bucks, I probably wouldn't even bother. But when you can get the literally same catback for half the price - well obviously I'm going with Ali.
