Spoiler keeps peeling off! Help!

Hey,

I need some guidance. I bought an after market CS style spoiler for my base bmw g20. I had bmw install it twice now and both times it’s starting to peel off. The second time they used 3m adhesion promoter and stronger 3m tape, but it the corners keep coming up.

Has anyone else added a spoiler to the car? Did you have similar problems? What did you use to resolve it?

I am so fucking frustrated with this. So just venting. Any guidance would be appreciated. It’s also my first BMW. Thnx!

This was the part I ordered. But it sits mostly flush in the trunk.

BMW quoted me over $1000 for a m340i spoiler.

I used 3m tape part #03614c along with the 3m adhesion bottle

I’m open to other brands if they have worked.

Doesn't BMW suggest the use of "beta link" for the install of bodywork?

If its peeling up, its because the product is not fitting correctly. The tape is only so strong so if the shape of the product is off, then over time it will pull away.

Had a similar issue with a spoiler I bought off of Ebay so I purchased a similar one from infinite autowerks. Been a couple weeks and so far so good. Must be an issue with fitment of the spoiler, at speeds the air is probably going under the spoiler rather than over it and peeling it up slowly. I'd say try to return the product if possible and just spend the extra cash and get one from a reputable brand.

I second what RW Carbon said. I’ve never had that issue with the two CS style trunk lips I have purchased from RW.

Fitment of spoiler and proper surface prep on the trunk before installing is key. Mine with 3M automotive tape has been on for almost a year now no issues.
