Gen 2 B58 not turning on after new MHD update
Yesterday I logged into MHD and saw that there was a new update which required me to reflash the car with the update, at first my car started right up and everything was good, up until I parked the car for 15 minutes got back in and the car wouldn’t start, I tried everything to start the car, but I learned that only after I deleted the tune completely the car started right up.
A few hours later I did a DME unlock again and flashed the car back to the stage 2 E40 tune, and oddly the car started right up, it was only after I parked my car and tried starting it after about an hour the car wouldn’t start again, it would keep cranking but nothing until the 6th try, the car started like how a car would start in -10 degree weather barely turned on, the next day (today morning) the car started up like a champ, the next few times the car would turn on after a few tries but barely, up until I parked a car for a longer period of time and again the car wouldn’t start at all. The only way I could turn on the car now is by just reflash it the tune there is no other way I can turn on the car, every time I reflash the tune my car starts up like a champ. I’m thinking this could be the fault of the new MHD update, has anyone experienced this issue too? If so have you guys found a solution? |

Ok so a little update here, instead of flashing to stage 0, since I mentioned before that I was running an E40 map, is it possible that the car wasn’t starting because of the E? Can anyone confirm this? I know on full E85 the car struggles to start up a little but on On E40? I doubt it. Anyways, I drove the car to Empty, flilled up 93 (and flashed a 93 map ofc) now it starts up fine every time.
To add on, I really don’t see how E40 would cause my car to not start up at all, because before the update I ran E40 multiple times and my car would start up perfectly every time, and the problem occurred right after I flashed the car with the new update. So now I’m gonna test this theory, im gonna run another E40 blend most likely tomorrow, I will keep you guys posted. |

Ok so today I did another E40 Blend and to my surprise the car won’t start on the E40 map so now I have no other choice but to drive around with E40 in my tank with a 93 tune and I still don’t know what to do because MHD has yet to resolve this issue.

Just curious, what spark plugs and gap are you running? Ethanol blend are harder to start and need a colder plug with smaller gap.
I have heard with the wrong plugs and/ or gap it may not start at all Not saying this is your issue, but something to check. Regardless, if it stated fine before the MHD update, I'm a bit baffled why it's an issue now. I'm sure MHD will figure something. |

Spark plugs were done by my dealer, so most likely the OEM ones, although I’m not sure what gap means, but I doubt it has anything to do with that because as I mentioned car starts up fine when it’s on 93 map even if I have a E40 blend in the car and it won’t start at all when it’s on E40 map.

It’s not an issue with parts so do not go down that road. It’s clearly something wrong with the update from MHD. Unfortunately you will need to wait for them to figure it out.
The car was perfectly fine before the update and post update has issues. 100% some bug with the update. There is no way to go back to the pre-update version? |

I had an issue where my car wouldn't start, I was getting a fuel pump initialization error after I did a MHD update. MHD said they could fix it and offered to remote login to my car and sort it out. Car was under warranty and dealer fixed the issue so it was a mute point. But MHD were there to help very quickly. |

Yup did the same thing, flashed to a multi and didn’t have any issues after that, but MHD swore that there was nothing wrong with the tune and I wasn’t blending the E properly 😂

Ever since MHD version 4.68 released and I update my stage 2 e40 tune I keep getting trouble code 21A026 and an extended crank every time I start my vehicle. When switching back to the 91 stage 2 tune my car starts up right away. I’ve tried using different e85 stations and still get the same code every time I start my car. So this seems to be a new issue only when running stage 2 e40? I emailed MHD to see if they say anything but after reading this sub I doubt they’ll do anything

They aren’t gonna do anything they are just gonna try to sell you their E85 kit and tell you that you aren’t blending correctly, try flashing a multi map stage 2 and it should fix that.
