I've been bouncing in between the Dinan carbon intake (OOS) vs RK Tunes front mount intake on my G22. If I go RK Tunes, I would do an active shutter delete, following instructions from other posts in this forum.

I am going more for best sounding, I understand performance gains are minimal for both in real world.

My questions are:
-Is front mount intake gonna make a difference in power? or sound? vs Dinan Intake
-For those familiar, is the installation for front mount going to be difficult?
-Is there any sort of lag associated with front mount intakes, due to longers ram intake? (I pretty sure no?)

For your application, you won't notice any power difference. The installation on the front mount intake is more complicated—no lag with either option.

I like regular intakes as you can hear them better since its closer to the driver.

Any idea if any of these front mounts would work with a g30 540i?

I am very jealous you guys have that option.

I installed the Dinan CAI today. Looks great and has a pretty good sound too!

Thanks Mike! Now just waiting on that Dinan turbo inlet pipe to get off of back order.

I am glad that I will be able to compare the sound of the turbo spooling up with just the CAI versus the CAI and turbo inlet pipe. So far it is definitely more audible withe just the CAI.
