LOL Who exactly are these snowflakes who “threaten to cancel orders of new BMW cars”? But I did love all the descriptions used. Controversial. Offensive. Angry. Gratuitously insults. Abusive. Outrage. Cringe. Outrageous. Annoyed. Alienated.

Seriously, I hope anyone who feels this way doesn’t buy a BMW or any other car for that matter and just stays home in their basements.

I'm not a fan of BMW's new design language or their marketing campaign..... but damn people are sensitive.

I'll likely still get a G80 as my next car even though BMW seems to be marketing them to hoodie wearing teenagers with as much weird and cliché urban vibes as any hopelessly out of touch corporation possibly can come up with. Yeah... it's ridiculous marketing, but I don't get why that triggers people so easily.

I'm not a Boomer, I'm an X'er. I'm amused but concerned that BMW is trying to apologize for the Boomer comment and not dealing with the real problem - bullying customers into liking their new products.

If the product is good enough despite the questionable styling it will sell. However, it will sell MUCH better if the product is good enough AND it looks good to 75% of the customer base. Making a design choice that alienates your existing customer base is foolhardy.

I don't care if they insult me so long as they make cars that don't insult me. Unfortunately...they do.

I was an early hybrid owner; I then was an early phev owner. My current phev, a BMW 530e, is my fourth hybrid. If BMW imported the 545e, I would upgrade. So I am not resistant to change. I am only resistant to ugly change.

So...yes...at my age Iam a baby boomer. But I like fast, performance cars which is why I went to BMW. But every time I go into my garage I would have to look at that face and I can't do that.

So...unless BMW changes and recognizes that the objection is to bad design, not to change, this baby boomer will be visiting other dealerships (e.g., Mercedes; Tesla) in the future.

Idk how you even market any item towards that specific of a market. Hoodies? They're actually very comfy

It was a figure of speech.... I don't literally mean teenagers who wear hoodies.

I’m a boomer born in 1951 who really doesn’t care how or to whom BMW markets their cars. It’s their advertising money and I’m pretty sure they know much more about how to spend it than we do. I don’t pay really much direct attention to any marketing campaigns. I make my purchasing decisions based on the product itself. That said... I ordered my M440iX in August and I’m totally in lust with it. Great looking car that is a hoot to drive and while I’m sure some people have scoffed at it, I’m getting a lot of compliments on it from other baby boomer corvette owners, friends, family, and even the driver of a completely blacked out F32 who lowered his tinted window to give me a thumbs up.

I guess some folks weren't taught the "sticks and stones" song.

Words will never hurt me!

To me at least, the problem isn't the "ok boomer" joke but rather what it shows about the company. I'm not a boomer, so I don't find the "ok boomer" joke offensive. I find its more outdated than anything, and that the joke/trend died months ago, so BMW's attempt at being "cool" and "trendy" also failed in my opinion. More importantly though, I feel the ad was pretty much not an insult to boomers, but rather an insult to those of us who bought into the brand for their superior driving dynamics and great vehicles, regardless of age.

The ad pretty much read like this "we hear you, you don't like where we are heading and that you want the old bmw back, but we don't care. Instead of actually addressing the valid criticism of some of our most enthusiastic and loyal owners, we'll make a joke out of it in our advertising, and pretty much tell them to piss off."

BMW hopes to get new and younger buyers it seems, but in the process they will lose what is (or were) their most loyal set of buyers. Some of us have been with the brand for decades even, in the family, and even recommended the cars to others. They will of course get new buyers, but the question will be, will those new buyers end up being loyal to the brand? Or will they just move to Tesla or other competitors like many have already?

It's really BMWs prerogative.

If you don't like their direction, don't buy the car. Simple fix.

That said, a lot of folks still buy the car and then take great relish in posting every single thing 'wrong' with the vehicle.

It's odd and sad.

That's the internet age. Can't even trust reviews anymore.

Basically anything anybody posts online is an opinion anyway.
