Will there be traction issues on the 2021 M340 with the square 225 setup?
I know that 2021 M340's don't come with the option of an 18 inch staggered setup. Does anyone with the car experience traction concerns if you have the square setup?
I'm wondering whether it's as true as they say when people discuss the car not holding to the road given the tire setup. Is this really even a worry? |

I can't believe they sell the M340i with 225s! Even my 330i with OEM 225 RFTs lose traction when taking corners spiritedly, even with TC on. For me, it is fun. But for someone who isn't used to it, it can catch them off guard. I cannot even imagine how bad it will be in the M340i with much more power!

With the run flats I'm sure you will lose some traction if your pushing the car arounds corners on a fun drive. Every day driving you'll be fine.
Still, the best fix is to buy better tires, especially if you want t go for spirited drives. If you don't live in freezing or snowing weather I would grab a set of Michelin PS4S and you'll be good to go. Even on thinner tires those things grip pretty amazingly. |

As disappointing as the skinny wheels are from an aesthetic standpoint, I have not noticed any performance issue and I push the car about as hard as you can on the streets. I upgraded my tires and went with 235/40 non runflats. Some folks on here have even gone up to 245/40 square and confirmed that it fits.

To maybe help someone decide (but perhaps specific to M440 or a regional thing for Europe) I can inform that my M440ix coupe came with 18" staggered non-RFT Bridgestone (225/45 18 and 255/40 18, 7.5" and 8.5" rims).
The ordering form is not specific and the "options document" I found has typos. A drawback with 18" is that SP4S seems unavailable in 18" and SP4 seems unavailable as BMW (star) marked in these sizes. |

For RFT model it's the PS4 ZP and it's also available in BMW OE (star) model in the staggered 18" size. |
