My Arctic Race Blue M440iX delivered

I ordered it on August 21 and finally brought it home today. I was starting to think the ship got hijacked. I have to say, everything about this car looks even better in person. The color is really cool and the blue stitching in the black leather matches it perfectly. I’m looking forward to some quality time with it over the next few days.

Wow! Looks awesome--enjoy! I think I was almost as anxious for your car to come as you were.

Love the red calipers & laser lights too.

After you've driven it around a bit, I hope you post more pics and your opinions of its driving and aesthetics.

Here are a couple quick pics of the mesh trim that I took for you tonight. I like it better than the aluminum tetragon, but that’s just me. I think it goes with the contemporary look of the car. CF would also look good o good but it’s pricey. I’m just not a wood trim guy.

I haven’t been able to put many miles on it since I picked it up on a Monday afternoon and I haven’t flogged it at all so I can’t say much about the exhaust except it sounds decent under a load in sport mode. My problem is that I will be comparing it more to either a C2 or C7 Corvette so no matter how throaty is sounds... and I don’t really care that much about snap, crackle, and pop.

Thanks, very nice, it does look better than the tetragon trim imo too

I think the Aluminum Mesh trim is one of my favorite parts of my car. What pictures don't show is that you can FEEL the texture on it. It's effectively a woven aluminum weave and does the rare job of making the car feel both sporty and classy at the same time!

Congratulations, enjoy in good health! I'm also eager for impressions vs the M340i!

CF is not an available option yet that I'm aware of...

As for yours - that's the "Aluminum - mesh effect" trim? Not the "Aluminum Tetragon"?

Yep, that’s the mesh. More of a monochromatic look with finer pattern than the tetragon.

Nice. That’s the one I’m leaning towards, good to see some real world up close pictures.

Tetragon is almost too busy. Looks alright overall but with the other options, no need for it.

Congratulations on finally getting your car and it looks great. Color choice is spot on and the interior with mesh is spot on.

Thanks. I’m getting lots of compliments on the car, especially the color combination. It really is a nice blue and typical of BMW metallics i that change dramatically with the light/sun.

Did you get the Sensatec covered dashboard? If so, could I ask you to take a couple photos of it? I am contemplating putting it on my spec as well, but I have no idea what it looks like.

The SensaTec dash is standard on the M440i. Here are a few shots for you. It doesn’t feel like leather at all but it is soft and has a decent “grain” to it. I have the black Vernasco leather seats with blue stitching and they carried that combo onto the SensaTec dash above the cluster.

I really wish they gave the option of nappa leather (on the seats/dash/top of doors).

I don't think you can even get full nappa on the non m5/m550 G30 anymore

I agree, the option for Napa should be offered. That said... having had a number of Napa vehicles, even in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, after a week with the Vernasca I’m starting to think I like the Vernasca better in a sports coupe. Not as buttery soft as Napa but the grip is good and it actually looks more sporty than luxury.

Thank you for those photos. Would you say it feels similar to the soft touch material that used to be standard in the cars? I'm wondering if it would be worth paying extra for the leather dash.
