What site do you use for tracking?
That's through MarineTraffic.com. I signed up for the "Vessel Plus" plan which gives you a 7-day free trial and live updates for one ship

Mine has been at the port for 10 days now. They told me it would be delivered Oct 31rst to the dealer but it's still In Oxnard. What gives? I called and they had no idea what was happening. I did have some M performance parts installed at the port, Front Lip and Side Skirts but it shouldn't be taking this long since I'm a 5 hour drive from the LA area in the Bay.

The ports, plus the backtracking, probably added at least two days to the overall trip.
I have called the Genius hotline to check what is the ETA for loading the car in a Truck and being delivered. These are the dates I have received from him:

Clearance from VPC & Load in the Truck (ETA): 05Nov
Deliver at the dealership (ETA): 07Nov

Hopefully it will be quicker than ETA. So that I can pick up my car on 07Nov.

I called also and they told me it would arrive at the dealer (estimated) on the 9th. About what I would expect, two days after a Chicago delivery. He only told me it was logged in at the VPC this morning but no estimate for when it would be done so you got more info. Two ships arrived this weekend in Baltimore so I would guess they are awash in BMW's.

Thanks for the info.

No Problem. I think at the end we will have our car within few days either this weekend or by next week. Which is better than this month or next month

For anyone that didnt lock in their lease rate yet my dealer called and confirmed the good news, the November rebate is 1500. Hopefully I'll be picking up the car this week, still at the port going through the vpc.

Yep November numbers remain the same, just no more lease to lease cash (there is still loyalty though).

Is anyone else experiencing a delayed processing through the VPC. My car arrived on 11/2 in NYC and is still going through the VPC with an eta to be at the dealer on 11/7th. Unless this is normal, I thought it would only be 2 or 3 days before the car would be in my hands. I guess I'm getting a bit anxious waiting lol

My car arrived in Baltimore on 10/31 but since it was a weekend essentially 11/2. It should have been released to trucking today. Did you call the Genius line? They should be able to tell you when it was scheduled to get through the VPC and the truck schedule. If there was any damage or port installed items that will add to the time it spends at the VPC.

As of this afternoon, it's saying In-Transit in the website. So they have loaded my car in a Truck (this morning) and it's on the way. I'm guessing yours should be on the way as well.

I'm gonna call my dealer tomorrow to see whether i will be able to pick up on Saturday.

I was going to update you later tonight. I called the Genius line and I am out of the VPC and scheduled to be at the dealer on 11/8. This is a day earlier than a week ago so hope you also moved up a day. Dealers are closed on Sundays in MN so still Monday for me.

Oh that's coool. Let's see when our cars will be at our dealers. I believe, the dealer probably need a day to do their inspection and prep it for the delivery.

My order went in end of last week for an m340. It looks like it's coming out of MX from what I can tell. VIN starts with 3MW.

Anyone know how long those builds take? Any concerns being built in SLP vs Germany?

As a reference point this was my timeline. It doesn't really matter when you place the order, the key date is your production date. It took about a week from start to finish to build the car. Mine sat at the port in Mexico for about two weeks, got loaded on a ship and took about two weeks to get to Baltimore. 4 days to get through the VPC and three days to truck it to MN. Since your build has started you are about 7 weeks from delivery on the short side I would think? I will be about 7 or starting week 8 when I take delivery.

Regarding quality there should be no concern about quality. The SLP plant is the newest and most automated. For a while some 3 series were coming out of South Africa and they had a higher build quality than German built cars.

I agree with bpurnell regarding the timeline. So to be short you can expect around 2 months from the Build start till you have your car in your hand. Most likely you might have your car last week of December or early January (If everything goes well without any issues).

Wow I checked my build status online and I was pleasantly surprised to find my car was not only in transit but already arriving at destination port this morning. It only departed less than 36hrs ago but it’s a short trip across the gulf. Mine is way ahead of schedule, production started 10/4.

Ships have always been luck of the draw. That is awesome for you for to get your car next week.
