Yes, u need to remove the center piece to replace the 2 side trim. Do you have the part number for the leather side trim?

No, no part numbers yet. Asked my BMW dealer today if they can order them. Hope to receive a reaction soon.

According to my local dealer the leather side trim would not fit on a G20 3 series. Not sure if they only based it on my VIN number ...

I've said that before...the side parts are a different shape.

Looking at this, the trim should be able to fit from G22 to G20 since the M performance trim can fit both.

It's a mistake, it won't fit. Just look at any picture of that side piece on a G20 and compare it to the the G22. It's a totally different shape.

It’s quite different then the e90-e92 trims which seem easy compared but I super appreciate someone taking the time to create instructions for this car.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm typically not a fan of silver trim but I do like the black wood. I had my entire silver trim in my G37S skinned in real CF and clear coated, love it. I may venture down that road in the future to see if I can get the BMW done too. I'm typically not a fan of overlays that other companies sell and wish the OEM kit came in a glossy finish.

I've started vinyl wrapping interiors on the side and am considering doing the silver trim in a different color but we shall see.

I'm just curious how this piece of trim comes off. It is the small piece of trim circled in picture.
The rest of the trim pieces are easy to remove.
Links not working or visible…

*** UPDATE ***
Found it !!!

Just looking at the picture of the trim surrounding the centre vents , at the top it doesn’t look like it’s seated correctly , were there any issues with fit there ?

Once I noticed it I just clipped it back in place. This trim takes literally a couple of minutes to remove. The fit is fine being OEM

Digging up an old topic to confirm whether the centre console (shifter etc) needs to be removed to replace the 2 knee trims?

As I just tackled it, yes, the trim around the shifter assembly needs to come out. Job jobbed though:
