Here are the slips from my 3 runs. I'm car 8707. For reference car 0377 was my friend in a Kia Stinger GT2 AWD. Hopefully I get a chance to do a a few runs with the JB+ that's been gathering dust in my closet before the winter really kicks in.

That is crazy fast for a stock car! Did you run on pump gas?

Yup car is stock, has MPE but I doubt that makes any difference at all.

And yes this was with 93 octane. I have some dashcam footage of all 3 runs so if I get some time I'll upload them.

Mad respect for the B58. 12.0s stock. You probably have the fastest stock M340i around!!!

Um, no. You don't drop 4-5 tenths in a 1/4 with an extra 30-40hp in a 3900lb car. You might squeek out an 11.8-9 in good DA. Might. Lets be reasonable here, you can notice a difference and you may put a car on someone you otherwise would tie but no miracles will happen with only a JB+.

It would buck a little if I gave it mid throttle too quickly. I'm not totally sure it was from the JB+ as I have heard that this trait is common to B58 cars. I just never noticed it before the JB+ was installed. It has also just recently been getting colder here in the PA/MD area. I have noticed some gain in power but sometimes it feels better than other times. It may just be traction control or torque limiting kicking in at times but sometimes I think "Damn, that was quick" and other times I feel like the top end feels about the same. Even if we confirm power gains from a dyno, torque limiting may still keep the car from actually being much quicker. The only way to get around this is from an actual tune where those things can be addressed. Spoofing the Manifold Pressure sensor into thinking there is less pressure can add boost but as soon as the DME senses a torque threshold being broken it can stop the party. That being said, there are some reports of quicker 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times by draggy using the JB4 on Map 3 with an e30 or so mix. If I get around to testing any of this I will be sure to report my findings. I'm pretty sure however that I will ultimately go to a stage 1/2 tune for some real gains. I am used to 500hp cars and even though this car is quite quick with 400hp, I am missing the extra 100 ponies. I will say that I recently added the BMS intake to mine as well and I did not expect to feel a difference as most modern intakes don't do much. I was pleasantly surprised to feel a noticeable difference with this cooler weather, the JB+, and intake on 93 with a couple gallons of e85 mixed in. The intake noises add cool factor and the surge of power with all things combined was noticeably faster. Definitely worth the $400 spent so far for most likely about 50hp and completely reversible in about 15 minutes if going back to the dealer for service or warranty issues.
Can you run up to 30% ethanol on the M340? I know F30 B58 you couldn't run much E due to the fuel pressure limiter in the DME without backend flash..I 1 gallon of E mixed with 93 octane in a 440i

You should be able to. I run 3.5gallons E85 topped up with 93 octane for a full tank on my G20 330i. No issues so far. I keep it just under E30 to be safe.

You can run e30 fine. Tuned you can run e50 no problem (that's what I'm running now). Dinan actually has a tune they are developing on full e85. Apparently the hp fuel pump on this engine is better then the previous version and more capable of supporting e85 and higher hp levels. According to my tuner the ecu can detect the ethanol level of the fuel and adjust accordingly.

Cool to know. I ran around 16 - 17% ethanol on a 2019 440i I've been leasing with jb+. one gallon mixed with 10 gallons of 93 octane. Around 94 octane. Car seemed to run stronger more consistently with the ethanol. I'll be turning the 440i in soon for a M340

The new B58TU and B46 have upgraded HPFPs (the same pumps as in the Supra which are popular upgrades for the 340i/440i with the older B58). So you can run fuel with more ethanol than you did in your 440i.

Would be nice to see a JB+ on a dyno - for comparison here are some results for the JB4 on the Fuel-It! Z4 M40i (I thought I had already shared them here but it was another thread)

Fuel-iT full results and original post here:
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1692979

Chenry cliff notes version below:
JB4
91 octane
downpipe (don't know catted or not but it wouldn't matter much either way)
BMS intake

Map 1: +28 wheel horsepower vs stock wheel horsepower*
Map 2: +35 wheel horsepower vs stock wheel horsepower*

JB4
EWG connector
E85 added to 91 to achieve E42
downpipe (don't know catted or not but it wouldn't matter much either way)
BMS intake
Fuel-IT flex fuel sensor
IAT Spoofing to bump timing a couple degrees

+90 wheel horsepower vs stock wheel horsepower

*Note: comments are they were "taking it easy" because of 91 fuel and +50 is achievable under similar circumstances (and I agree with this based on what I've seen on the supra forums on 93)

wow. very impressive... I am sure that is more LINEAR 28-34 hp on JB4, and more impressively, 60/90 TQ increase on map 1 / 2!

And no, i haven't seen any M340i JB+ dyno yet. So it would be great. However, it isn't too hard to tell the added power with it. For me, 200 well spent.

What do you think of a JB4 with 91 crap so cal gas, NO downpipe? Bad idea? No track time, no drag races for me... Just everyday driving. Would a hard tune like MP be better for that money? They are about the same (600-700 range)

for now i have jb4 with no downpipe and its fine

in my opinion there is no such thing as a "hard" tune unless you as the user decides to make it a "hard" tune

MP from the reviews and what others say is always good so id take an MP stage 2 tune over a jb4 or any plug n play tune anyday
