Down pipe with cat question

Now that BMW can flag your car if it is tuned I have a two part question. If I didn't tune the car car but installed a downpipe with a cat will that flag me? IF not, will I feel any gains/is it worth it?? TIA.

Not sure if you'd get flagged but I have a Catted down pipe (Active Autowerke) and definitely worth it imo. Butt dyno definitely felt a slight difference. Sound is better as well

There are downpipes in Germany which are homologated, like this. They cost a lot tho.

i dont think the dp will flag you bc it has nothing to do with the dme

if something goes wrong that is caused by the dp than you will be out of luck but then again i havent really heard much of people having issues with this platform

idk how the car will run with just a dp and no tune..i feel like it will run either too rich or too lean depending on conditions i know its recommended to tune it since it does allow more air flow

the tune will allow you to get he most of the of the car in a safe way as long as the tune is reputable

the active autowerke downpipe is a safe mod for your warranty. The downpipe itself does not add any pressure on other car's components, if anything it reduces the pressure on your turbo and most importantly, it does not throw a check engine light

What kind of gains can be expected with a catted downpipe on the B58? Currently have the stock intake, but going to be installing the Armaspeed intake in the next week or two.

Thanks, Mike!
